They voided a check they wrote me for employment
I have been working for Fair and Square Construction for years I quit and received my paycheck, but my paycheck has void written all over it Saying I have a loan with them and that is why they took my pay I never authorized for any money to ever be taken out of my check, nor did I ever sign any paper work taking out a loan
Review: I requested this business to build a fence for me. A week after completion of the fence several of the support boards warped and caused the fence to bend out in a few places. The contractor attempted to fix the issue by placing a stake in the ground rather than replacing the boards. When contacted the contractor kept saying "boards are boards, I don't have any control over that." and has thus far refused to fix the issues correctly. I assumed our agreement was for a completed fence in good condition, however not replacing the inadequate boards seems to be in breach of that agreement. The current fix has an unsightly look to it as well considering a stake being randomly placed into the ground along the fence in 2 places.Desired Settlement: We would either like the contractor to fix the issue correctly by replacing the inadequate boards, or either refund a portion of our payment for the inadequate areas of the fence to have someone else fix it. We have requested an estimate and received one from another company that would be $545 to fix the current issues with the fence.

Response:
We completed the job for Mr [redacted]. All looked well and was paid remainder of balance due. We were called back several times because they were nit picking on things they did not like. And several times been back to satisfy them free of charge on things that they wanted. We got a call again about a board being warped. Again we went out there and fixed free of charge. Got another call complaining they did not a section of fence because fence boards was looking warped. We explained to them several times that we do not warrant boards for the simple fact that due to the sun beating on them, boards will do this. unless you paint them with a sealant they will warp but most of the time will get straight again. We offered to put couple of stakes in ground to straighten them out. Ms [redacted] agreed and said that it would be fine to do so. So another trip out there free of charge. Being they wanted whole section changed now, we offered our labor for free but asked that they would pay for material. We do not warrant boards because we can not control what they do especially being beating by the sun. Mr. [redacted] wants over $500 to replace section. That is almost triple of what the cost would be to replace a section. Again, we offered our labor free of charge but will not pay for materials. Never in my over 10 years experience doing this kind of work did we have an unsatisfied customer.
