Review: On 8/31/2005 I purchased a license ([redacted]) for software ([redacted] analytically tools for [redacted] from [redacted] Inc. The tool requires activation after installation on any computer. Several times over the next 3 years I was able to re-install the license on new machines (only my own personal and work machines). This required the support of [redacted] to reset the license due to the fact that the add-in restricted the number of machines the tool was installed on. On 1/31/2008 FactSet Research Systems Inc (Public Company traded on the NYSE ticker FDS.N) purchased [redacted] Inc. and merged the company with its own. Following this the Company incorporated [redacted] tool FastTrack into their monthly Fee-based service requiring several thousand dollars per month to use FastTrack (along with their other products). At the same time they discontinued support for the product I purchased on 8/31/2005. Additionally they refuse to allow activation of the product I purchased FastTrack v.3.4e which I own a [redacted] license for (with no additional fees stated in 2005 when I purchased). The product Registration site is still online and many of the links active, however you cannot activate/register the product. (most of the links go directly to www.factset.com)https://[redacted] have called FactSet Research multiple times and cannot get a resolution to the problem. I have been told more than once I will have to sign up for the [redacted] monthly service to gain access to [redacted] (even though I purchased a license in 2005).My invoice that was emailed to me is below:[redacted] INVOICEAccount number: [redacted] Dear [redacted], Thank you for your recent [redacted] purchase. I do not expect continued support for the product, Only that I be able to install it on my computer and activate it. I will be following up with the Company and the Revdex.com until this is resolved.
