Prior to appointment contacted to pre-approve full-coverage for 1 dependent while my husband is on active duty. They confirmed then recanted that I owe $55. I provided secondary insurance which they confirmed receipt of. With *no prior contact againuntil I received a collections notice 3 months later including penalty.
I was eligible for full coverage eye exam which I confirmed with *** prior to switching providers, I pre-approved my appointment, was lied to about covered, then my secondary insurance was not billed.
Secondary insurance was billed and denied coverage. Results from a follow up complaint with the insurance company indicates that we billed appropriately. The disputed fee appears to be $55 (not $80) which has been written off. The misunderstanding appears to be confusion regarding routine eye exam coverage vs contact lens fitting benefits. We made multiple attempts to explain this to ***, and did an additional courtesy bill to her insurance company, but it was not a covered benefit.

Enclosed is a letter from *** which was also submitted to them because they did not inform me of the difference between eye exams which is their responsibility upon making a new appointment (I even requested they check my insurance for coverage prior to content lens eye appointment *which I stated was fully covered under my husband's active duty insuranceprior to making an appointment).
They handled it so unprofessionally that I filed a compliant to the Revdex.com, ***, ***, and Healthgrades. I have never done that before! I even filed a complaint to *** to remove them as a beneficiary provider.
Please refer to enclosed letter from *** siding with my case.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have a document letter from my insurance that states ruling in my favor due to "no evidence of correctly informing me of my insurance benefits" when I even called prior for a pre-qual prior to making an appointment.
1) Even if ECNC made a billing mistake, the poor handling of this matter was intentional and did not rectify the mistake. Responding "I'm sorry you feel this way" still avoids any responsibility for the mistake itself and how it was handled.
2) YOU did not "remove me from collections," I contacted them with my insurance letter and they removed me immediately.
Most customers won't have the time to complain on ***, Revdex.com, and *** reviews about your service, but hopefully they'll see this and have the time to research a better solution to their eye care needs.
