I was seen at Express Medical Care on 01/04/2020 for extreme nausea. While in the facility, I became sick and vomit in the trash can in the room. NO one never took any blood work, they rushed me out because one of the nurses told another nurse that I vomit on the floor and that was not true. I was told that I had food poisoning and dehydration and to drink plenty of Gatorade and ginger ale to get my electrolytes up. Four days later, I am admitted into the hospital. I informed them of what had happened 4 days prior and I was told that I was misdiagnosed and if they had completed blood work on me, they (Express Medical Care)would have seen that my glucose levels were elevated. I was told that the Gatorade and ginger ale only increased the levels.
I made a complaint to Self regional in March and spoke to a nasty, rude person named Misty who stated that the doctor said that I told him that I ate some bad salad dressing. I never told the doctor that I ate any salad dressing. I told the doctor that I ate dressing (stuffing) that had been in the freezer. I told her that the doctor's notes were wrong, she said that she would talk back to the doctor and someone would call me back; I never received a call.
In April, I made an online complaint. Someone sent me a letter (***selfregional.org) stating that they support the doctor's decision. I emailed him on 04/30/2020 asking for clarity regarding the doctor's false statements and was he saying that his doctor did the right thing by not completing blood work; I have yet to receive a response to my email.
Thank you for sending this information to us. I have had the opportunity to review our records about this matter. We received an initial grievance on this situation from Ms. on April 9th, 2020. We conducted a full investigation including Team member and Provider interviews. Her records indicated that she was given proper instructions and we could not find any evidence to support Ms.’s statements about what she was advised by the Provider at Express Care *** regarding drinking Gatorade or gingerale. I elevated this matter to the Chief Medical Officer and we drafted and mailed a certified letter on April 17th, 2020 apologizing for the negative perception of care and providing an explanation that the medical decisions by the Provider at Express Care was appropriate for the symptoms for which she presented. Please let me know if the Revdex.com requires a formal response or there is anything else you need. Thank you,
Sincerely,
