My dishwasher was backing up into the kitchen sink... I called Excel and they were able to fix it the same day. Very friendly and professional. Highly recommended. Thanks :)
Outstanding job, they fixed our boiler. Don't hesitate to call them if you need any plumbing work done, you won't regret it. I'm very happy with their service
Have used Excel multiple times, especially during the last big snow storm. The guys were very professional and very knowledgeable. I was afraid that, as it happens in situations like these, the folks would do the critical time-sensitive work first and bill me an unreasonable amount later. It was not the case here. I was quoted the work upfront and had time to decide. When they finished there were no surprises and all was done as expected. Impressive.
Excel came out and did the job right away. All of the plumbing issues were addressed in one visit. Would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs their plumbing done and in a timely manner.
Great company to work with. Reasonable prices and great services.
ZERO/NEGATIVE RATING, Very bad experience.
- When I called them first they said it will be 29.99$ for inspection which will be waived if we go with them. But instead they called my husband and said will charged 250$ upfront before looking at the issue. Our purpose of calling them was to replace a leaking valve that's it.
- After inspection, which took only few minutes to turn off the main water supply from outside they asked for an additional 400$-$500 to replace one valve. We decided not to go with them, it's just a ripoff.
- After 30 min they called us back with a reduced price offer of $250 this time. We did not go with service.
Never recommending this company to anyone. Not professional at all, if they charge us we will dispute and file a complaint again.
To summarize my experience with Excel Plumbing, on at least 9 occasions, employees/dispatchers said they would call me back, yet they never did. (The only one who did consistently was Mike.) Overall, the lack of communication, lack of follow through, and misinformation seemed unprofessional and left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. For more specific details, please see below:
1/7- Plumbing issue starts in our only shower.
1/9- I called Excel and told them to order the recommended shower part.
1/10- Was informed that the technician would come on 1/11 and bring the part with him to install.
1/11- Got a text early in the morning saying a technician (John) coming to replace shower part. Got a call about an hour later that he had truck issues and could not make it. Spoke with him on the phone later that morning, and he said the part, that he was supposedly bringing, would not be arriving until 1/18. My sister did not go into work just so she could be home for the technician. Technician said he would come in the evening after 5 pm or on a Saturday so we would not have to miss another day of work. He said he would give us a discount plus coupon. He said he would come out today (1/11) to give us an estimate on replacing the whole thing, and if we decided to do that, he would be able to complete that job the following day (1/12). As of 4 pm on 1/11, he did not come or call to say he was not coming. I called Excel and was told the technician got stuck on a big job and would not be coming today. Excel said they would call me on Monday 1/14, and they never did.
1/18- Excel did not call to set up a follow-up appointment or to let me know if the shower part came in.
1/21- I found out on 1/21 that the part would not be arriving until 1/24. I asked if a technician could come out Thursday or Friday anytime after 4 pm or Saturday and was told only for an additional (emergency) fee, even though the technician (John) said on 1/11 that he would come at a time that would accommodate our work schedule.
1/24- Dispatcher (Mike) called to say a technician would come out on Saturday morning (1/26) with no extra fee to replace the shower part.
1/25- Received an email saying a technician would be at our home @ 8-10 am on 1/26.
1/26- No one came or called by 10 am. When I called Excel, I was told the technician (Yury) got stuck on a job. He arrived around 1 pm. He said we needed a different part, so when he left, the shower was still not fixed. Technician, who was extremely professional, got the new part on 1/28 and fixed the shower on 1/29, over 3 weeks after the problem arose. On 1/26 and 1/29, we asked the technician how much we owed, and he did not charge us.
1/30- I called and talked to a manager to thank and compliment Mike and Yury for their help throughout this process.
1/30- Received two invoices from Excel: the 1/26 invoice showed an amount of $260, but we were told on 1/26 that we were not being charged because it was not fixed. The 1/30 invoice showed an amount of $0. We asked if we owed anything on 1/29, and it was our understanding after talking with the technician that we did not owe anything, which seemed to correspond to the amount of $0 on the 1/30 invoice. Spoke with an employee in billing (Oksana) to clarify; she said she we owed $260. If that was the case, I asked her about the discount and coupon that the technician (John) had mentioned on 1/11. She said she would double check with the manager and technician and call me back.
1/31- No one from Excel called me back as of 2 pm on 1/31, so I called them. I got disconnected and did not receive a call back for almost 15 minutes. I was told (by Oksana) that we owed $208 and that was the best they could do, along with a restaurant.com card.
The company informed us that the fee for estimate for a residential water heater repair is $29.99. They charged us $150 for running diagnostics, which they did not inform in advance and upfront that they would run diagnostics and that the charge for the same would be $150. The technician who visited performed some repair services in addition to running diagnostics. In spite of performing repairs, the unit is not working and the water heater does not work at all. In spite of spending $150, the water heater does not function at all and is in the same condition as before the contractor's visit..!
We have already spoken with the customer and the issue has been resolved.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. The business has promised to refund the amount $120 back for the overcharged amount. I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, upon refund of the said balance ($120, which is yet to be reflected in the credit card online transactions).
Sincerely,
Ashish
Deceptive unprofessional work. Had my sewer line rodded out and the tech handed me a tablet to sign off on . I didn't get to read the no warranty stipulation. It was not even 24 hours and my basement flooded. They wanted to charge an additional $575.00 to redo the work. When I had just paid them $325.00 the day before.
At the time of the initial service call, our Plumber performed rodding of the sewer line and determined that there are problems with the sewer line beyond the extent of regular rodding. The homeowner was advised that there are issues with the sewer line that need to be further investigated. Since sewer rodding will not resolve the issues at hand, we were not able to provide a warranty for the work that was completed. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain in the next few days, the customer was flooded due to a problem with the sewer line.
At the time of the second service call, our Plumber issued an estimate to the customer that included both rodding and video inspection. The intent of the estimate was not to redo our work but to further investigate the cause of the problem as originally discussed at the time of the first service call. The customer was displeased with the estimate and the additional work that needed to be done.
We have reached out to the customer and attempted to resolve these issues. In order to satisfy the customer, we have offered to perform the estimated work free of charge. Upon offering the customer to have the work done for free, the customer stated they want to think about what they will do next.
In April 2017, my husband and I hired Excel to repair a broken storm line. We disclosed to them that there is an existing underground sprinkler system and was told that they would be careful in the excavation process to not damage it. The repair to the storm line took Excel 2 attempts to fully repair it. In the midst of the second attempt Excel damaged the underground sprinkler system but it went undiscovered until June. As soon as we realized there was a sprinkler leak we contacted Excel to have them repair the sprinkler, which they attempted to do. I then left them an unfavorable, but honest, review of their work on a social media site. In August it came to our attention that the sprinkler leak was still occurring and not properly fixed. At this point we were tired of dealing with all of the rework Excel was doing to our property and called in a professional irrigation company, whom successfully completed the job. This cost us upwards of an additional $200 for Excel's mistake. We provided this information to Excel to make them aware of the situation. At this point they offered to refund $200 to us. However, they are now withholding said refund unless we remove the forthright review from the social media review site. We find this to be unethical from a business perspective and personally immoral.
We do not owe nor hold any Customers' money for any reason. I understand that the Homeowner may be frustrated since this was a difficult and lengthy project and that multiple attempts were made to correct all issues to satisfy the customer. Underground excavations are difficult projects and there are many unknown variables that can occur while digging. Our proposal stated that we are not responsible for any Landscaping work which includes Irrigation Systems. However, I understand that we damaged the Irrigation line while digging. We made every attempt possible to repair the Irrigation System for NO CHARGE while any other Contractor would be issuing a Change Order Invoice for repair. At this point, the Homeowner hired another Contractor without our knowledge and is now attempting to have us cover his bill. If we were told about any issues with our work, we would have completed the service under warranty for no additional charges even though we never charged for the work in the first place.
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Excel still doesn't get it. We aren't asking and have never asked for them to pay the other company's bill. Excel, ON THEIR OWN ACCORD, had ALREADY offered us a refund of $200 and and we had already accepted it. Then they went back on THEIR word. That is where our issue lies with them at this point and the sole reason this was opened as a Revdex.com complaint instead of a review. If they deny that they had already extended a refund to us then they are downright lying about it and there's no further any of us will get at this point. I'm not asking for anything that wasn't already agreed upon by both parties.
Sincerely,
Candice
Excel Plumbing has spoken with the Customer and the complaint has been resolved.
I hired Excel Plumbing to replace a broken sewer line for my rental property. The work was done on 6/24/2017. After the broken sewer line was replaced, they left a big hole in my front yard (where the excavation area is). I was told there was not enough dirt to fill the excavation area completely but they would come back the following week to fill the excavation area. On 6/27/2017, Excel Plumbing called and asked me to pay the remaining balance of the work. I asked them to confirm if the excavation area was filled completely and they confirmed it was so I paid the remaining balance. I stopped by the property later that week and found the excavation area was not filled and the hole was still there. I followed up with Excel Plumbing during the week of 7/2/20017 and was told they would get the excavation area filled no later than the end of the following week (last week). I stopped by my rental property in the evening of 7/15/2017 and the hole was still not filled.
The sewer repair was completed at this property on an emergency basis and the customer was advised that we will backfill the excavated area with only the soil that was removed in order to expose the underground sewer. The customer was also advised that landscaping restoration was not included in our scope of work. Once we backfill the soil, it typically takes a few weeks for the ground to settle at which point a Landscaping contractor simply adds more soil to the excavated area if necessary. Upon completion of the sewer repair, the customer was not pleased with the look of the landscaping. As a courtesy, we advised the customer we will return to add more soil for no additional charge even though Landscaping was not included in our scope of work.
At this point, the Northwest Suburbs received a tremendous amount of rain and a large amount of people were dealing with emergency situations. Northwest Suburb residents were being evacuated from their homes and many homes were in the process of flooding or already had standing water. We asked to please be patient while we are helping other residents with real emergencies. Once the emergency situation is under control, we will resume normal business operations.
Per the customers' request, the landscaping has now been completed and the extra yard of soil has been added for no additional charges.
We strive to maintain our customers satisfied throughout their entire situation and work as quickly and efficiently as possible. We hope that at this point, the customer is satisfied with Excel Plumbing and the work that has been completed at the property.
