Evergreen Van Lines

Evergreen is a broker. They hired multiple companies to move me from California to Ohio. These were terrible, unreliable companies and Evergreen takes no responsibility for it.

I moved because of a job offer. They failed to show up on the schedule day twice, which required me to rebook several hotels and was never reimbursed. In my first contract the cost was estimated to be under $6000 for a full-service move. It ended up costing me over $11,000 which I was forced to agree to on the day of the move or I risked losing the job.

They deliberately placed small items in big boxes and then filled the rest with packing paper. They artificially inflated the cubic feet I was estimated to take up.

When it came time to deliver I called many times but couldn't get through to anyone. I called around using different lines until I got through to a sales guy who helped get my delivery coordinated.

Upon delivery: They asked for even more money and held my belongings hostage. None of my stuff was unpacked, several pieces of furniture were damaged, and my refrigerator was left outside in the snow. I had to buy a new bed frame because it was completely destroyed. The movers didn't put anything down and covered the carpet in mud. A giant pile of tape and cardboard was left in the driveway. Then the truck driver has the gall to not even pay the movers THEY hired.

Check the BBB before hiring a moving company. You will find that this company is your worst option.

As we planned our move across the USA we searched for a reputable company to move all our household goods. We first spoke to Scott B who gave us the quote and said that the move should take 21 days "but we just say that to cover ourselves it usually takes 7-9 days".

Well 27 days later, we still don't have our stuff and Evergreen van lines will not return our calls to tell us what is going on. We got a text last week saying it should be arriving within 3 days ... still waiting.

This is after talking to Amanda (Customer support) and Charles, who is apparently a scheduling manager, many many times. Last Wednesday (the last time we spoke to anyone at the company) Charles said he was going to call me in 1 hour - its almost a week later and I am still waiting for his call back (I must have left 5 messages) and we have now given up!!!

We have considered calling the police as I think that this company is just a scam and have stolen our household goods. I don't really care about the furniture, I am more concerned about out family memories and some important documents!!!

We still have no idea on when our household items will arrive (will it even arrive). in the mean time we had to stay an Airbnb and then basic essentials (mattresses, plates, towels bedding etc. as this was cheaper than staying at the airbnb).

All we were asking for was transparency and someone to keep us in the loop... but instead were ghosted (we understand timelines change)!

I my opinion, the worst moving company ever. Do NOT hire this company.

After some easy paperwork and a walk through of how things would go, they got to work and I got to relax, which was great after a few days’ worth of packing. They were super careful handling my items. They even wrapped my sofa and other furniture. No hidden fees, no extra charges for moving equipment! They charge by the hour and gave a good estimate of the time it would take to finish the move. Recommended!

I originally contracted a different company but they failed to show up on my pick up window and had me scrambling last minute. I'm glad I found Evergreen Van Lines last minute for my move. They accomplished the job without any hurdles or problems. If you seek to move houses, just contact Evergreen Van Lines and trust them with the moving of all your possessions.

While they were not the cheapest quote I received, hiring Evergreen Van Lines is money well spent and I'm really, really glad I decided to use them for our move. The movers were strong, eager and utterly respectful of the items they were moving. It was a pleasure to work with them. Surely recommend them!
