My sons information, age, name, address has somehow been obtained by Ever right media and he is being directly targeted by Trumps presidential campaign.

thekidsguide.com & learnourhistory.com are listed within the political pamphlet.

We never authorized any company or institution to directly market or speak to our 9 year old son.

The pamphlet is charged with agenda items and religious ideologies.

This is highly inappropriate business practices.

Desired Outcome

1) Explain how my sons information was obtained. Provide source and contact details so I can deal with the company exchanging my sons info directly. 2) Stop contacting my son 3) Stop sending biased propaganda to underage children.

Further research has determined the source of subscription for my son. This case can be closed with no further action.

I was unknowingly signed up for a subscription and billing accordingly. I did not approve this subscription.
As stated in previous compaints, I signed up for the *** to the Presidential Election thinking they would bill me $1 for the brochure. After being charged an initial $6.12 for the brochure, they then charged me $22.26 for what I'm guessing is a subscription to their magazine. I have tried to call them, as well as email them but to no avail. I would like my money back, and all future charges to be cancelled.

Desired Outcome

Please credit my account back for the $5.12 and the $22.26 that were not agreed upon, and cancel all future charges.

I do not agree with the fact that they said the info on signing up for a subscription was in plain sight. I think this was sneaky on their part. However, the complaint has been handled and my money refunded. I am satisfied with the outcome.

They charged me for two children rated "magazines". They were delivered to our home. We have 4 daughters all married and 7 grand children. None of them live at our home

Please note this was related to a Yahoo issue. It was not yahoo !

We received Mr. order on 7/10/20 and his items were shipped on 7/14/20. We received a request from Mr. on 7/23/20 asking for his account to be canceled and refunded, which we immediately processed. Two refunds in the amount of $1.07 each (a total of $2.14) were issued for his introductory offers for The Kids Guide and EverBright Kids. On 7/23/20, a confirmation email was sent to him at the email address he provided at the time of his order. Nothing further will be billed or shipped. We hope that this resolution is satisfactory and as a result, consider this case closed.

I am attempting to cancel a subscription and the company is not responding
I saw their ad to try the Learn Our History magazine for one dollar. The ad states that I would be charged a monthly fee if I liked the magazine and wished to continue receiving them. The magazine is more like a small pamphlet, not worth the monthly fee in my opinion. I promptly contacted them and requested my subscription be canceled. I did not hear back from them. I have just been charged 22.98 by the company with the words "LOH Kids Guides" on my bank draft. I was also charged a 6.32 fee from LOH Everbright Kids" earlier in the month. I do not wish to be charged again from either of these entities. I have contacted them numerous times via their contact form as well as through emailing them at their contact email at ***@everbrightkids.com with no response from them in return.

Desired Outcome

I would simply like to have this subscription cancelled. This is normally a very easy request, but with the evasive nature of this company it is virtually impossible. I would like them to stop making this seem like an easy way to try their magazine. As a teacher, I thought this might be something I could use in my classroom. However, the product is not worth the exorbitant monthly price. Beyond that, they falsely lead the consumer to believe that trying their product will be cheap and easy, and that cancelling any further issues is simple. It is not simple, and in fact, has me contacting the Revdex.com in order to simply stop this company from charging me any further.

Advertises a free product for children and collects $1 for shipping, then adds a $20/monthly service without making that clear at checkout.
I clicked on a Facebook ad for a free "Kids Guide to the Presidential Election" and ordered a copy for my son who has been homeschooling due to COVID-19. The website indicated I needed to pay $1 for shipping, which is how they obtained my credit card information. A month later they charged $20 to my credit card for a "subscription" to additional videos on their website. I went back to my purchase email and it says at the very end that they would subscribe me to this. I did not sign up for or give consent for this service.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund and all account information deleted.

Upon receipt of her initial order on 5/31/20, we sent a "Welcome" email to the email address she provided, ***@gmail.com. I do not recall this policy being clearly spelled out at checkout, although it was in the email I received after checkout. Regardless, I am satisfied that my account has been cancelled.

I do believe this company's deceptive Facebook advertising preys on families who are currently trying to homeschool their children due to the COVID-19 crisis. They need to make the subscription program much more clear to avoid this mistake in the future.

Also feel that they are not clear you are signing up for a subscription. That is not UP FRONT! Also thought I was ordering free DVD & single copy of free magazine and paid for 1 extra DVD(in March of 2020). Received a second billing and called on April 29, 2020 and Customer Service Rep was RUDE when I asked her if this was a subscription. I asked her to cancel it. She said she was canceling and was sending an email at the moment to confirm the cancellation. I told her I was checking my email and she responded back "I don't have time to wait why you check your email!" I was shocked by her attitude. As of today, I still have not received an email to confirm that this has been canceled.
I send the original order to our granddaughter and have not actually seen the material. Even if it great, I will not order from this company again. POOR Customer Service!

I have checked my Inbox, Junk, and Deleted email. I have not received any response from my call of April 29 when I asked for the order to be canceled. I also emailed you again later in the day on April 29 and again on May 1. NOTHING, no response.

Calling Learn Our History, 80 Internationale Blvd, Suite # A, Glendale Heights, Il XXXXX, on Tuesday, September 04, 2018, at 2:00pm. My call was responded by ***.I had accepted in July to receive one DVD for $1. Evidently, that way that had my credit card number? I never allowed them to use it repeatedly without my consent. I was surprised to receive four more DVDs that I had not requested. I never received any invoice, and because of the strongly politically tainted content, I just assumed that this was political propaganda material and did not inquire about it. I discovered later on that they had sent emails that I had not noticed.When I called, *** told me that I will be reimbursed $14.95 (each DVD was billed $19.90). Before I could ask her whether that amount was a one time reimbursement or multiplied by the number of DVDs (4), she hung up on me'Since they are not allowed to use a credit card number that was given to them for a one time specific purchase, I consider they should reimburse me for the unwanted shippings and illegal use of my credit card, that is to say 4 X 19.90 = $79.60.Thank you for your help!***

Learn Our History

As filed by other complaints, the company uses a deceptive 1$ free trial to get you to subscribe to a $20 a month recurring subscription.
They claim that this service is clearly described and this could not be further from the truth. On the initial webpage: *** is the link for the 1 dollar offer with zero mention other than "Each film we offer to our subscribers". No mention that you are enrolling to be a subscriber by buying the 1 dollar DVD.
Once you click the link you are taken to a shopping cart that lists the prices for shipping and cost of the DVD as 1 dollar with zero mention of a recurring monthly fee.
The third page ONLY mentions it under the terms and conditions part of the page which you have to click a box that you understand, but you have to scroll down to even see that information. To say they take "every effort to make sure you know you are subscribing" is dishonest. It could clearly list it on any and every of these pages along with the advertising.
The DVDs also make zero mention that you have paying for them and we wrongly assumed they were complementary as this is marketed as a "wholesome faith based" company.
Also, their emails go directly to spam in gmail, so they offer little help to those who are enrolled incorrectly in this service. It is sad to see a company tricking customers into such an expensive recurring fee.

Desired Outcome

I have spoken to their customer service through Facebook and offered to ship all 4 DVDs, unopened, back to their office for a refund and ignored.

The customer did not contact us until after they had received 4 additional DVD's at the same address as the card over a two month period. A refund of $59.80 was issued back to the same card the same day the customer called to cancel. ($14.95 x 4 shipments). As customer satisfaction is paramount to us, we will refund the additional charges in their entirety (Including the initial $1.00). There is no need to return any DVD's. No additional shipments or charges will be made.

I accept the refund of the product costs, but wish they would just update their "free" DVD offer with clearer advertising to help others avoid the same problem!

I signed up to recieve 1 DVD and was unknowingly signed up for a subscription service that charged my credit card $20/month! DO NOT ORDER!
I signed up to receive a single DVD for $1 per the advertised promotion. The only place that it was described as a subscription service fro $19.90 / month was in the lower paragraphs of the terms and conditions. NO WHERE on the website is it listed as a subscription service and the ONLY PLACE where the price of what will be charged to your credit card is in that tiny terms and condition box. Definitely intended for deception.

Desired Outcome

It must be listed outside of the fine print that this is a SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE FOR $14.95 +SH per month.

Family Bible Films sent me a DVD for $1 and it said they would bill me $19.99 a month for each DVD. They said I could cancel service any time by calling them. I called both phone numbers they provided and the numbers do not go through. It just plays some music and hangs up on you. I emailed the company and no reply yet. Do not give this company your credit card number. It is a scam.

As per the terms, we established an account and released streaming for Ms. on 12/17/17 and pre-authorized $12.97. At that time, we generated two separate emails, both containing our customer service phone number as well as our customer service email address. The first email explained the service and how to access the Member Site to stream our MoneyBright Kids episodes. The second email welcomed her to College Save and provided additional information on the college savings program. On 12/24/17, the end of the 7-day free trial period, we settled the $12.97 monthly fee.

We were contacted by Ms. via phone on 3/14/18 requesting cancellation. The account was cancelled.

We apologize for the difficulty Ms. experienced in reaching us, however we are very clear on both the terms and conditions and the emails sent on the free trial duration, how to cancel and we always honor the customer's request to cancel when they contact our customer service center. Our call center is open 24 hours each day, 7 days each week. We experience a very low percentage of lost calls and are proud of our very low average hold time. We try to make it very easy for our customers to contact us.

We have refunded $12.97, covering the current months service charge. This was done in good faith as our terms and conditions clearly state that we do not provide prorated refunds. Her account is cancelled and will remain cancelled. Finally, the initial 1,000 + additional 750 monthly CollegeSave points, totaling 1,750 points, remain hers.

Signed up for free 14 day trial, cancelled at the end of it. The day after, was charged $47.88. Called a CSR and was told my account was not cancelled
I signed up for the free trial and I then proceeded to email and cancel it. I received a confirmation email from ***, a customer service rep from Moneybright Kids saying my account ( account#: XXXXXXXX-XXX) had been cancelled. The next day, I was charged $47.88 via debit card. I called customer service and was told they don't have my charge on file and that my account was never cancelled. I have a screen shot from my paypal debit account that I was in fact, charged and the emails saying my account was cancelled.

Desired Outcome

I would like my $47.88 refunded to my debit card immediately.

2/5/18 Trial period ended. Card on file was declined for 1st annual payment $47.88.

2/6/18 Card on file attempted and declined

2/9/18 Card of file attempted and declined decline email was sent

2/13/18 Card of file was attempted and approved; $47.88 annual fee was settled

2/13/18 We received a request to cancel via email. Account was cancelled, and confirmation email was sent. Email explained that account was cancelled and would remain active until the end of the current term 2/12/19.

2/28/18 We received a call from Ms. and terminated access to our site and provided a pro-rated refund of $43.89. She was only charged $3.99 for the first month of service.

We apologize for the confusion Ms. experienced, however we are very clear on both the terms and conditions and the emails sent on the free trial duration, how to cancel and we always honor the customer's request to cancel when they contact our *** center.

Again, we have refunded $43.88, covering the remaining 11 months of her service with us. This was done in good faith as our terms and conditions clearly state that we do not provide prorated refunds. Her account is cancelled and will remain cancelled. Finally, the initial 1,000 + additional 250 monthly CollegeSave points, totaling 1,250 points, remain hers.

I signed up for a free DVD. Instead they signed me up for a monthly subscription. This a rip off with poor quality DVDs. Don't sign up!

We are very clear in our terms and conditions on how our membership works and customers have to affirmatively agree that they have read and accept our terms and conditions upon the initial order. Mr. checked yes that he had read and agreed to our terms and conditions which are clearly stated on every order page. Additionally, we pre-notify customers via the email they provide us at least 10 days before each shipment. Mr. was pre-notified on 10/6/17 and 10/20/17 and did not contact us to stop shipment or cancel membership until 10/29/17. We canceled membership that same day and nothing further will be billed or shipped.

At Learn Our History, we strive for complete customer satisfaction. We provide a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, and we inform customers through our published policy that they may request a full refund of the purchase price with no questions asked, within 90 days of purchasing a DVD by calling XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Customer Response

Hiding terms in fine print in an obscure part of your website does not mean that your terms were clear. If they were clear they would not be in fine print. With regards to the email notifications, good businesses do not just send people products and charge them for it. A good company get the expressed consent from their customer that they do want your product. Not some hidden term that no one can find. If you want to do better, you should advertise "Get a free DVD when you sign-up for a monthly subscription". Not "Get a free DVD" and hide the monthly subscription part in fine print. Your business operates this way because if you were completely upfront about the subscription, no one would sign up for the free DVD.
