To: Whom it May Concern @ Revdex.com 05/02/2017From: Evans Auto Care & DetailingRe: Complaint ID: *** My name is Shayne E*** and I am the owner of Evans Auto Care & DetailingI am responding to the above complaint ID. When this customer came to my shop to receive an estimate for
detailing her vehicle, it was a very windy dayWhich is quite common for Airway Heights, WAThis customer pulled her vehicle into the open gate area which is the hold yard for my other customer vehiclesThe gates were open as my employees were pulling cars out for detailAnd due to the fact it was windy, the wind caught one of the gates which hit her quarter panelAt that time, I did feel bad and advised her I would have paintless dent repair done on her vehicle if it was also brought in for a full detail. After the customer left, her husband had called and was very rude and said the paint was also cracking from the gate damageI did not see the quarter panel before the gate bumped into it, so I have no idea what or if it already had pre-existing damage from something elseIt was not cracking or peeling paint when it left my shopI told him that when he brought the vehicle in for detail on April 24th, I would take it to the body shop for an estimate. After thinking about this, when the customers came in on April 24th, I advised them that I would still take their vehicle over to the body shop for an estimateAnd due to the fact the quarter panel was now peeling paint, in good faith, I would take care of half the cost of the repairAs I only agreed to paintless dent repair beforeAt this time, Mrs *** became very rude, belligerent and virtuously inconsolable regarding the situationI did advise her that this was an act of nature and neither I, or my employees, parked her vehicle in that locationAnd that she is the one that parked her vehicle thereIf either I or my employees would have parked it there, I would have had no problem taking care of the repair costsAnd due to that, I feel that the damage caused by an act of nature is not my fault nor responsibilityAdditionally, I am not the owner of this building and did not paint those linesThere were several empty parking spaces directy in front of the building where her car would have not gotten bumped by the gate
