About years ago, EAS was employed by my family to organize and maintain the family estate While the dynamics in my family are not very harmonious, it was thought that bringing in a 3rd party to handle the financial and property affairs would help prevent any future turmoil and ease communications After working with EAS closely on day to day matters, it was found that EAS would not make decisions which were in the best interest of its clientRather, EAS would yield to a member of the family who (to put it bluntly) had a bullying personality which EAS did not challenge There is a paragraph on the EAS website that states: “ we have helped many families by acting as an independent, objective and fair third partyWe help by handling the administrative details and reporting to everyoneCommunication between family members is the key, and we help to facilitate this by acting as the buffer and getting your estate settled†EAS submission to the bullying personality in the family has heightened tensions and increased conflict within the familyAt one point, EAS, after being asked to justify its actions, stated to its client's children that the inquiries were a "distraction" to them and that they no longer would discuss trust matters with the family This seems completely opposite from what the company advertises on its website It is interesting to note that EAS was not very experienced, nor properly staffed to handle rental properties Rather, EAS leaned on the tenants themselves to handle coordination of maintenance and other needed services such as electrical and plumbing work All in all, I would NOT recommend this company for anyone looking for estate planning services
About 2 years ago, EAS was employed by my family to organize and maintain the family estate. While the dynamics in my family are not very harmonious, it was thought that bringing in a 3rd party to handle the financial and property affairs would help prevent any future turmoil and ease communications. After working with EAS closely on day to day matters, it was found that EAS would not make decisions which were in the best interest of its client. Rather, EAS would yield to a member of the family who (to put it bluntly) had a bullying personality which EAS did not challenge.
There is a paragraph on the EAS website that states:
“ we have helped many families by acting as an independent, objective and fair third party. We help by handling the administrative details and reporting to everyone. Communication between family members is the key, and we help to facilitate this by acting as the buffer and getting your estate settled. â€
EAS submission to the bullying personality in the family has heightened tensions and increased conflict within the family. At one point, EAS, after being asked to justify its actions, stated to its client's children that the inquiries were a "distraction" to them and that they no longer would discuss trust matters with the family. This seems completely opposite from what the company advertises on its website.
It is interesting to note that EAS was not very experienced, nor properly staffed to handle rental properties. Rather, EAS leaned on the tenants themselves to handle coordination of maintenance and other needed services such as electrical and plumbing work.
All in all, I would NOT recommend this company for anyone looking for estate planning services.
