Eric J Williams Funeral Homes

I had driven by the Eric J Williams bldg. several times in my comings and goings and assumed it was closed because I never saw cars there. I had assumed they were out of business until a family member died and the family made a huge mistake by entrusting the final remains of their loved one to having the Eric J Williams Funeral Home.

When I walked into the funeral home there were 2 WAKES being held and no sign to direct the families and friends to the room of the deceased. I had to stand in the center of the entrance and figure it out, glaring into both rooms until I recognized someone from my family. When I noticed the family and went to that room I looked for the book to sign so the family would know who came to pay there respect. The funeral home didn't have one out until a couple of hours after the viewing had begun ; some people had already come - paid their respects & left. Those people were unable to sign the book because it simply wasn't available. The work was shabby and the deceased looked NOTHING like himself. To add insult to injury, the staff had to sprinkle some sort of freshener into the casket to cover a smell emitting from the corpse.

The parking lot located in the back had no working lights. It was a perfect place to be robbed , raped or worse. The Eric J Williams Funeral Home operated like a business struggling to stay afloat. I can imagine that good help is hard to keep because the checks probably don't cash because people aren't using it; or there having to refund money for shabby service. When I looked for REVIEWS (after the experience) I saw what appeared to be 8-10 'ghost-writers' who boasted Great Reviews but I live in the area and I've never seen any cars in the parking lot . It doesn't add up.

Do what you want with your loved ones, but if money is an issue I would encourage you to look at any other funeral home in the county. Don't get caught up in your grief or take a suggestion from a well intentioned friend that say "they do good work". Whatever they were - they aren't anymore. After witnessing what I saw, not only will I take time out of my busy life to prevent another family from experiencing what I witnessed; but to make my point, I would not intrust my dog with Eric J Williams Funeral Home with my dog.

In 2016, Consumer's then 28 year old son was murdered and Company was contracted to provide funeral services. Consumer states the contract included a headstone. However, the stone was never provided by Company. Consumer has made numerous attempts at contact but Company avoids her calls.
