Complaint: [redacted] Auto emporium is not a specialty shop for Subaru's nor cylinder head workIf I needed my fire truck fixed, I might've taken it to your foreman but my car, unfortunately, is not a fire truck.I believe this matter will only be solved through my pursuit of litigation
We have more than years' experience, serving the community with honest and professional auto repair We diagnosed several issues, including loose brackets and bolts, and attempted to repair the part that he damaged We did this all for free! We gave him an estimate for proper repairs, which he declined He simply is not taking responsibility for breaking his own car We are disappointed that he fails to recognize this.Thank you for the opportunity to respond
We strive to provide a success for every customer. This young man's car came to us with leaking valve cover gaskets. Upon examination, we found a stripped bolt improperly siliconed into a damaged head. The customer told us that he and a friend tried to change the valve cover gaskets themselves,...
stripped a bolt in the head, and drilled through the body of the car and into the cylinder head at a bad angle, causing the damage. He wanted us to try to fix it. We gave him an estimate for re-drilling and heli-coiling the damaged piece, which he authorized. We started the job, but found the head was not repairable, because the hole he drilled rendered the area too weak to accept a heli-coil. We gave him a revised estimate, based upon our findings, to replace the head, and he declined the repair. We decided not to charge him for our efforts, as the young man's parents have been our customers for some time. We advised him to tow the car because although the engine would run, the improper repair he did could fail at any moment, causing catastrophic engine damage. The car sat here beyond the prescribed time for pick-up. It took several phone calls from us before he finally picked it up.We did not damage his car. We simply were unable to salvage the previously damaged cylinder head. Unfortunately, it was beyond repair, and needed to be replaced. We understand and share his disappointment. We would have liked to have provided a success to him.Thank you for the opportunity to respond!
