Equity First

Review: I hired Equity First to help me through some hard financial times. I needed help in trying to get my mortgage modified because a reduction in salary. [redacted] was very eager to take my money - $2500; however, did very little to help me out. I am a project manager by trade and had to manage [redacted] throughout the process. I constantly had to call for updates and many times actions were taken after my call as opposed to them initiating any action on their own. In addition, [redacted] was very delinquent in returning my calls or responding to my emails. As I mentioned, I had to manage her and keep calling and emailing her for responses. It came down to my home going into foreclosure. At this point she requested an additional $250 to file a claim against HSBC (my mortgage company). This was just another ploy to collect more money from me. Now I am out of $2750 with no results from Equity First. They no longer call or respond to my emails. In fact, someone from the firm called to solicit more business from me by see if I need financial investment services. I recently called HUD for assistance and they offered me the same services for free and they have been more responsive and helpful than Equity First.Desired Settlement: I would like a record of my complaint on the Revdex.com website and in addition, I would like a refund.
