Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company-Midwest Reviews (%countItem)

On 1/8, I rented a car from the Johnston branch Enterprise. I was told I could drop the rental car off at the body shop if that was more convenient. On 1/11, I parked the rental car outside of the body shop & gave the keys to the man at the desk. On 1/15, Enterprise charged my credit card an amount higher than expected. I called to ask for an itemized statement. I spoke to *** branch manager. She had difficulty locating the bill & when she found it, she said it was still 'open? so she needed to research & call me back. The next day, she left a vm saying they were having a hard time finding the rental car since the body shop had not recovered the keys. I called her & she said the car had not been checked in & she was going to the body shop & would call back. She called & said she went to the shop & the car was not there & they do not have the keys. She said the car was my responsibility until it was actually checked in & that I needed to locate the car. I told her we had contacted the body shop & they said they checked the car in on Thursday night & that someone from Enterprise had picked it up Friday morning. She told me she didn't know why they were telling me that & it was not true. She said it was snowing Thursday night so her & the one other employee went home & they didn't do anything on Friday. She said at this point she didn't really know what to do. She kept telling me that I needed to locate the car because it was my responsibility. I left work to go to the body shop to see if I needed to contact the police. On my way, I received a vm from *** stating they got the vehicle figured out. It was rented by one of their dealerships & they forgot to assign the unit. So, it was returned & it was rented back out & she does not need my assistance any further. No mention of the overcharge. My husband had to get the Regional Manager's name & number from a different Enterprise in DM because the assistant manager (***) at the Johnston branch would not provide the information.

Desired Outcome

No settlement requested - for I would like for other potential rental car customers to be made aware of the poor practices in place at the Johnston Enterprise branch and to have the opportunity to look for a different location to rent a vehicle.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company-Midwest Response • Jan 19, 2018

There was some confusion from our branch about the vehicle being dropped. This was an honest mistake made by our team and we apologize for that. However the customer should not have had to deal with this and we apologize. The charges have been straightened out and we were able to get this taken care of.

I disagree there was confusion, rather there was a lack of customer service, a lack of organization and a lack of ability of the Johnston branch manager to perform her job. This branch placed blame on me and the repair shop rather than taking time to research and resolve their issue.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company-Midwest Response • Jan 26, 2018

This situation was not handled appropriately by our team. I sincerely apologize and have followed up with them so this doesn't happen again.

The Alamo Rental branch in Omaha, NE is involved with dishonesty and handling with customer service with the branch and regional manager.
Upon receiving a phone call from the branch manager and discussing closing out the vehicle that was overdue due to my illness when I returned from getting my child from Jackson,MS. We also discussed my being able to open a new contract (all per text message) and returning the vehicle the next day. I came out, into the very cold weather, sick, to close out and renew and drive home. When I get there, I found out that I was lied to and instead of letting me know that could not be done so that I could clean out the car, get gas and prepare a way home, the regional manager walked me through the process and at the last minute told me I could not rent, closed the window after giving me a corporate number and laughed loudly as I sat outside in the cold, stranded. I reached out, no one has returned a call. Not even the department that handles complaints. I dealt with Alamo since March of 2017 and never had this much of an issue.

Desired Outcome

Either removal of my name from do not rent for Enterprise, because I had no issues with them or National and was told I could rent at an Omaha branch by the Eppley manager or an explanation and investigation of the regional manager who was very unprofessional. Or both

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company-Midwest Response • Jan 04, 2018

I spoke with the customer and agreed to provide the desired resolution. We've removed the customer from the Do Not Rent list and the situation has been resolved. Customer was satisfied with resolution.

The name has not been removed. I actually lost a good deal on a rental car because my name was still on dnr from business. The branch manager, *** did call and state that my name would be removed and gave strict guidelines for me to follow. However my name remains on the do not rent list per the website.

I just left a message for Ms. letting her know that her profile has been completely cleared and she is no longer on the Do Not Rent List. There was a clerical error when I originally tried to clear her profile which is why she still showed up on the list. This has been rectified and customer has been made aware.

I reserved a rental vehicle for 9/20/17 - 9/23/17 I received a confirmation email and number on 9/14/17 stating the vehicle will be back at 5pm (they close at 2pm). Price is $304.16 The sales guy was *** and I specifically told him that we wouldn't be returning it until 5pm on the 23rd even though they closed at 2pm. I asked if that was a problem and if I would be charged for an extra day? He said no. I received my Credit Card statement a few days later and noticed I was charged $405.55. I called that same day (9/26) and spoke with *** and he said he would put in for the $101.39 credit that I was overcharged. The credit promised was not on my next statement so I called Enterprise again on 10/30 and spoke with *** and told him the story and he said he is not sure why the credit didn't appear on my CC statement but he will put it through again. This month there still wasn't a credit to my CC so I called again on 11/27 this time speaking to the Branch Manager *** N. *** Rd *** - owned by the Leasing Co) Told him the whole story and he kept saying the same thing over and over, not even addressing the real issue. just Kept saying the store closes at 2 therefore I got charged for the extra day because it wasn't back till 5pm. The told me he couldn't credit me anyway now that it's past 30 days. When in fact my email states my return time is 5pm with the $304.16 price, plus I specifically asked about that and was assured it wouldn't be a problem, and past 30 days'?? I called and addressed the issue on 9/26 and two times after that.

I spoke to *** this evening and we went ahead and refunded the 1 day overcharge. It was miscommunication between the branch and the customer. Refunded $101.39 and the customer is Completely Satisfied with Enterprise Rent a Car

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Thank you *** from Enterprise, appreciate you taking care of this and refunding my credit card

Found blood in rental vehicle. Alamo refuses to do anything about it.Initial overwhelming smell of air freshener in vehicle. After two days an overwhelming smell of something dead. Upon searching we found a pool of blood under the spare tire well. The renter before us had apparently put a dead deer in the back. When we contacted Alamo we were told that they were not going to do anything about it. They would note that we were not the ones to damage the vehicle. They were not willing to bring us a new vehicle or refund our money. According to the deer license we found the blood had been in there for 5 days. This is a health hazard and completely unacceptable.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like a full refund of the money I paid for the rental.

Customer Response

The business contacted me directly and has issued me a refund for the auto rental.

In October 2016 I attempted to rent a vehicle from Enterprise Rental Car but could not because they had in their computer that there was an accident and DUI entered in their system under my name. I asked them for a manager and they told me there was nothing they could do at the time so I went to a rental company and rented a vehicle and was advised they show nothing in their system. We also had to pay double rental fee since we had to rent a car in a hurry. A week later I went to the State of Illinois drivers license bureau and received a print out of my driver license history and it was nothing on the record. I was also told by a State Employee there was nothing on the record. I went back to Enterprise with my information from the State and the salesman called the corporation and explained the issue and had me speak to a female administrator and she advised it was an error and was going to be removed. Now I was thinking about renting a car and wen again to Enterprise Rental Car and they told me again that that information was still in the computer about me having an accident and DUI which never occurred. I feel that I have exhausted all of my attempts to get this resolved. I want to say that a person of that office that is or was employed may have put information on my account which is tied to my record/identity in that company which I consider a fraudulent act and is causing me a lot of stress.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) System corrected and to stop entering fraudulent information under my name. Refund for the different on the vehicle I had to rent due to wrongful act.

After digging in and doing research with our risk department, we do not know how customer's information was entered into our "Do not Rent" list. We have removed customer from our "Do not Rent" list and he is able to rent going forward.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We wanted to be compensated the difference or our car rental and did hear from enterprise they would agree to our decision.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company-Midwest Response

I have spoken directly with Mr. a couple of times. He inadvertently was added to Enterprise's "Do Not Rent" list. Enterprise has sent a refund check to Mr. for the hassle caused. The refund amount is the exact amount that Mr. asked to be compensated for and he stated that everything is "good to go" with Enterprise and that he will be renting with us going forward.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We are satisfied with the outcome and hope to do business with Enterprise in the future

I reserved a minivan on the website September 11th at 1AM. The website said the van was available and I was planning to pick it up at 7:30AM in the morning. So I drove all the way from Omaha to Lincoln this morning to pick up the van. The purpose of picking up the van in Lincoln is because I am traveling west, so I am trying to save time. Yet, when I arrived in the store at 8AM. The worker told me the van wasn't available. He said he called the two other locations and they don't have it too so he was just about to give me a call. He made another call to the airport location in front of me and that only took two minutes. So he spent 30min calling two locations? If he could've called me much much earlier then I would just turn around.

That worker has the worst attitude possible. There wasn't a hello, thank you, sorry, or goodbye. No smiles, no apology during the entire conversation. If he at least apologize then I wouldn't be so mad. Right now, I have to drive all the way back to Omaha at 8:30(after calling all locations in Nebraska and Omaha is the only one with a minivan available.) I wasted one hour driving to Lincoln from omaha(6:30-7:30) then driving to the store and checking on availablities through Nebraska (7:30-8:30). During back to Omaha to pick up the car (8:30-9:30). So roughly three hours in total. Like I mentioned above. I'm in a hurry. There is no way possible I can get the three hours I lost back. I'm really mad about the time wasted and that employees attitude.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I want an apology, it was that employees fault with his attitude and the inaccuracy of the website. I do not know how you can compensate me for the three hours wasted. I prefer to get those times back.
