As stated in our rental contract, the customer assumes full responsibility for tires. That said, we did only charge one day for the rental of the trailer even though it was out for days. In addition, we discounted that rate by 15%
I certainly understand the customer's frustration in
having to deal with tire issues on a rented trailer, especially being far from home. In light of that, I would like to propose that we split the cost of the Les Schwab bill ($215/ea.) and also, not request that the customer return the purchased tires to us, but keep them for their own use or perhaps to sell
