The customer had an appointment to discuss mortgage financing on August 14, 2017 with Elmira Savings Bank employee, Kathleen B[redacted]. information regarding the program and a Good Faith closing cost estimate. Due to the fact that the property was a 2-unit and the customer already owned a property, Ms. B[redacted] needed to clarify some of the guidelines. Subsequent to the customer's visit, it was determined that a borrower is not allowed to own two properties in this program and he was declined. There are conflicting intentions with this customer as it appeared that he made the initial appointment in good faith; however, in a subsequent conversation with Ms. B[redacted]'s supervisor, he indicated that his main goal was to receive a denial letter from Elmira Savings Bank so that he could receive his earnest money deposit back. It is our understanding that the customer has received his earnest money deposit back and he has not incurred any attorney fees. If we can be provided a receipt for his inspection and a copy of said inspection, we would be glad to return this cost.
