The patient in question was seen in our office on October 24, 2016. Patient came in for a new patient cleaning. After patients exam, it was determined the patient needed another type of cleaning. The patient was told what he needed and given his price for the visit on that day, as
well as his future visit. We even gave the patient information on an insurance plan that would help him with his out of pocket expense. At no time, did the patient state he was upset or did not agree with what we were suggesting. I have no problem writing off his $balance, but why should I? The patient came in, sat in the dental chair, had his teeth examined and a treatment plan was presented. We do not make a habit of doing all this for free... I can send over a copy of the patients signed treatment plan and his periodontal charting to show that the patient had an exam and knew there was a charge.
