Elko Transmission

Tuesday midnight,7-15-14,our race team was stranded in Elko, NV on cross country trip from ** to **,and had the misfortune of being towed to Elko Transmission. Next morning, the female there who represented herself as the owner stated that they could have a rebuilt transmission delivered there before noon if our race technicians/drivers would pull the old transmission from the race box van, using their lift. We explained to her that we HAD to be on the road that evening in order to make it to a race in [redacted]. She gave assurances that it would be no problem if OUR guys would do most of the work. We agreed, with the understanding that it HAD to be repaired by that evening. Well past noon that day, we started questioning the fact that the transmission had yet to arrive. Numerous times we were told it was "on the way", but when asked, female owner would not tell us where this "rebuilt" transmission was coming from,so that we could make contact with them and get an E.T.A. on the progress of the delivery. We were told "we didn't need to know that". By late afternoon we began realizing something didn't smell right with their outfit. Our truck is sitting on their lift, where WE dismantled it, and they are about to lock up for the night. With NO resolution and NO answers about where/when our tranny would arrive, we decided the ONLY option was to pay ANOTHER tow bill to remove our rig and have it towed elsewhere. We were then told the only way we were going to remove our rig was to pay HER $ 1,000.00 CASH, even though it is posted on their website that they take credit cards,it was obvious she wanted cash,off the books. This was obviously a setup to extort money from unsuspecting stranded travelers from the start, and they NEVER ordered a rebuilt tranny,& would not show us any proof they had.The whole ploy was to get us at their mercy, so we would have to pay them to get our rig back! Knowing we had no choice. They then got the transmission out said thay were going to the motel room they had rented.,They then ordered pizza , They then sat in the office with me and my techician and ate the pizza , it was then getting later in evening and they started tripping about so race they had and still the transmissions were in root almost there, they then went back to the room they had already paid and rent for that night. They said that they were going to the ford dealer ship to get a different ride as that on that was at our shop was old and worn out, so that is what they did and thay traded the truck for a different to get home or to the races and they owed me for the tear down of this transmission which is standar td for everyone. After all the complaining they still did not leave until the next day as the room was paid for and yes I did charge them cash , because of all of cursing And trouble they gave me. One would need to believe that it is WITHOUT this business owner/boss/whoever's approval that our two men apparently took it upon themselves to drive their box van into your garage, put it on your lift, remove the transmission, order pizza, then await the transmission all without the business owner's/manager's/boss'/whoever's approval, and without the same person giving my men a time frame for delivery of the transmission? Too far fetched to in any way believe!! Spin your lies any way you want, but we will continue to inform EVERYONE we know what a rip off business you are. Also, the [redacted] dealership in Elko replaced the transmission with a warranteed one within the specified period of time, for LESS money, and we have since put over 2,500 miles on it! Should have gone to the [redacted] dealer first, but we thought this was a reputable business. You couldn't even produce PROOF that this transmission was ordered, much less delivered, and you know that is because you NEVER ORDERED IT, because all the suppliers have cut you off for non-payment of your bills. You had no intention of replacing our transmission, you just wanted our truck torn down so you could extort cash from us when we decided to remove it from your shade tree business and take it elsewhere! Now we find out they were run out of Reno for numerous rip offs like ours. Here's to seeing you run out of Elko, also. You give transmission shops a BAD name! Enjoy your notoriety!!

I am very happy with my experience at Elko Transmissions. When I first took my vehicle in to have it diagnosed, I was hoping that it wouldn't be anything too serious, or too expensive. When they hooked my vehicle up to their scanner, and got the code, they informed me that my transmission was in real bad shape. The price was a little high, but, they worked with me on it, allowing me to make payments when it fit into my budget. They fixed my vehicle within two days, and I haven't had a problem with it since. When I went back in for my warranty check, they were very friendly, and looked happy to see me again. I really appreciate what they have done for me, and highly recommend this business to anyone that has transmission issues.","pos-1

Took vehicle to establishment for transmission repair. The business was unable to fix transmission as first described for $700 and they insisted on payment up front. The business suggested a new transmission for $5000. We decided that was not the best solution so asked the business to put the vehicle back together. They said that charge would be $450 and we agreed as we needed the vehicle back. They said that they had already deposited our check so they could not refund the $250 until the check cleared. They said that the check had been sent to corporate and they had to get evidence that it had cleared. They would call to have the refund picked up. Three weeks later still no call so I went in to get the check and they brought out $200 cash and said that was all the money that they had. I asked for a check and they said they do not do business with checks. I then asked for the corporate contact and they said there was no corporate and that they were a sole proprietorship. I told her that I would be in for the remaining $50 next week.
