El Azteca Mexican Restaurant

September 23, 2015 at 2:30 pm I was in the area of El Azteca in Neenah by myself (1 person not a group) and ordered lunch. I ordered a chicken burrito lunch plate and was brought out dinner plate for total of $10.80. There were 3 other people in the restaurant at two tables. I paid the bill with my debit card. I wrote down $11.00 for total and the next day my account was deducted for $12.80. I did NOT approve tip added for $2. El Azteca modified my total and would not help me over the phone when I questioned their fraudelent scam of collecting tips illegally. When a phone call could not resolve the matter I drove 15 miles to the store and more difficulty with management... The question - Is this really about $2? No, the point is that this business changed my receipt total after I departed this business. What if I only had $11 in my account and they tried to pull funds for additional tip... Gratuity is reflection of products and/or services provided.
I went to the store on Sept 23 about 9:30 pm for refund of my tip charged without my permission and $2.00 cash was refunded in person to me. It is ILLEGAL for a business to modify credit card billing after it is signed by the card holder and closed out for services provided.
If this happened to me - then it has probably happened to other people...
Upon leaving the store after disputing tip charges, I stated I would not be back and the employee/management responded "Good, we don't want you back".
This is about $2.00 tip yet for me it was 18.5% Gratuity billed to my credit/debit card without my permission! This is standard business policy for El Azteca of Neenah or maybe all El Azteca restaurants!
I will NEVER visit this business ever again!
Plus the food wasn't that good...
Chips and salsa were ok yet probably store purchased from Walmart...
