Ranksharks Inc / EightPM is a scammer. They rely on the fact that small merchants are either too busy to stay on top of and continuously monitor their services, or simply do not have enough knowledge to do so. They milk hard working small businesses out of tens of thousands of dollars in management fees and wasted ad spend.
Even after catching them red handed, with proof in hand that they've not even touched the account in months, they simply replied that the contract is month-to-month and that I am free to cancel. I was forced to file chargebacks with the credit card company, and the *** had the gull to contest them!
I contracted with Ranksharks to promote my gay wedding business *** on Facebook. I told the intake person all my details and my goals and expectations. I was promised many leads and was shown examples of other businesses that they have helped and it was a dramatic increase. Not only did I commit to pay them a large monthly fee but also to spend a nice sum with the Facebook ads themselves. After a month with 1 new lead and I cannot sure it was from their efforts I asked to speak to the rep who took all my information. I was not able to talk to him and the person actually handling the advertising a gal named *** I was told I could not talk to him and that any compaints were to go through her. later I found my intake person was no longer at the firm. The rep *** is also no longer with the firm. Several months in with no real results I decided to cancel with Ranksharks and spoke to the owner *** who agreed that my acount was not handled properly. He agreed I was deserving of some sort of compensation for the incompetence in the handling of my account. After some negotiating he agreed to have the amount I spent with them credited towards a new campaign that would be better for my needs to get leads. He asked that I work out some goals with the rep *** and then if they exceeded the goals I would continue with them as a paid advertiser. The rep *** could never come up with workable numbers and with multiple requests via email and phone to *** I was never able to communicate with him. The emails detailed my issues and I still have all of them to prove my case. The last email I received was from someone at the company and she wrote: Hi ***,
Are you able to have a call with *** on Wednesday, April 03 at 10:00 AM CST?
If this date and/or time doesn't work for you, please let us know what would be a better date or time.
Best,
*** Project Manager
He never called. I did get a call from someone else wanting to know if they could still help me and I explained to him the issues. No communication from anyone after that call.
Do NOT use this company. They do not perform as promised. When my company threatened to report them to the Revdex.com for not doing the work they promised, they they said they would report my company to the Revdex.com for being "difficult to work with" Most specifically, Claudette is the person who made the threats. I can only hope they are out of business and if not, then soon to be. Our organic ranking never increased and they charged us a small fortune for little to no work. Scam is a nice word for Ranksharks. F is too good of a rating for them. Claudette is a perfect example of how NOT to treat your customer and I hope she gets in return how she treated us 10 fold.
