Edward pool installed a new pool heater about two years ago. The heater has had a number of issues since install and now we are being told it will be approximately $1,800 to fix new issues. Edwards claims it’s not covered under warranty due to improper gas pressure but never told us at install about any pressure issues and never said anything when they fixed it last season. Now we are now being told it’s not their issue. I would like it covered and fixed at no charge. It was brand new heater that has had issues since install.
When heater was installed customer was told that a regulator needed to be put in when the gas line was hooked up to heater so gas pressures could be adjusted. I gave them information for the plumber I use to install all the gas lines on heaters we install. My plumber gave them a estimate to hook up gas line with regulator to heater and we were told that it was extremely high and they would find somebody else. The roll out fuse on the heater keeps popping and I told customer they needed to have their plumber check gas pressures. They told me gas pressures were fine. I sent my plumber out to check it at my cost, and gas pressures were to low which was causing flame roll out and popping the safety fuse. Because the pressure was to low the burner assembly is burnt up and the manufacture will not warranty it with the gas pressure being to low. I'm not fixing it for nothing when me or anybody who worked for me did not touch gas line hookup and that is causing the problem.
We had issues from day one Edwards was out at least twice and I think as much as 4 times to fix Never once was the gas pressure mentioned until recently including the previous two times they fixed the issue. Had we been told about a possible gas pressure issue we would have addressed when new or even last year when they fixed it again. Now all the sudden it’s a pressure issue according to them. Why didn’t they catch this on the first two fixes? It’s a ridiculous claim to avoid the fact they missed diagnosing the issue the previous two times. If you bought a new heater and had them fix it multiple times over two years would you accept this explanation? How would a consumer know that and shouldn’t they have caught that during the multiple times we asked to fix it?
