I recently obtained Homeowners Insurance with Edison I was quoted a price for the premium, which was paid by mortgage company through my escrow accountAfter that, I was told that someone would need to take pictures of my home I set an appointment and waited over hour and the lady never showed up I called her and "like a true professional," she told me that has a migraine headache, took medicine and slept through our appointment The appointment was rescheduled and when she came, she took countless pictures of the inside of our home, which I found extremely unusual She finally went outside and took several more pictures Shortly thereafter, I was notified that my premium would be increased by $because the inside of my home was "superior" to those on RedfinHuh????? What insurance company bases their premiums on pictures from Redfin? Furthermore, what makes my home "superior?" It is an average home with no "bells and whistles." I think Edison just uses a ploy to rope you in with cheap rates and then looks for excuses to raise the premium I am looking for a new carrier now and will be dropping Edison ASAP At this point, even if I get quoted a higher premium with another company, I will still switch Edison cannot be trusted If they remained my insurer and I ever did have a problem, would they use pictures of Redfin to repair my home??? Not for me Stay away from Edison...far, far away!!!!
We obtained a quote for Edison Insurance company that indicated it was good for thirty days we accepted the quote within the week and thought we were doneWe were then told ten days after our quote that Edison would not honor their quote they indicated it was good for daysThis left us having to scramble get new quotes again for our house insuranceOur broker stated he had never heard of any insurance company not honoring their quoteWhen questioned about why they just said they would not honor their quote because they already had enough customersWell I wouldn't do business with a honorless company anyway!

I received a quote from Edison Insurance and purchased a policy from them pending an inspection of my home. I was told that several roof shingles needed to be replaced or the policy would be cancelled. Huh? No problem. I hired a local roofing company to make any repairs they deemed necessary. $700 later I am informed by Edison that unless I replace the ENTIRE roof, they are going to cancel my policy. It seems to me that they are in the business of CANCELLING insurance policies because any communication with them includes a threat of policy cancellation, even when you follow their instructions. The local roofing company stood by their services and issued me a letter stating that my roof would last at least three more years, but Edison Insurance cancelled my policy because I refused to throw away a $700 repair by replacing a roof after they originally said it only needed a repair. I'm probably better off. I'm sure the next letter would have stated that unless I have my entire house rebuilt my policy would be cancelled.
