Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/19) */
Footprints were visible within the sealer for a reason unknown. I requested we wait 30 days to see if they would fade away with time. The footprints were still visible after 30 days. We have completed a few sample areas using different...
methods of solvent to dissolve the sealer in an attempt to erase the footprints. The next step will be to choose which method is best for removing the footprints. Weather permitting, we will remove the footprints using the best possible solution and re-seal the driveway. Action has been taking to resolve this situation.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/11/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I disagree that the reasons are unknown regarding the footprints, the business owner previously indicated that the footprints came from him and his two sons who did the work. In addition, he did apply a potential solution to two different areas of the driveway but both have made the situation worse and he has failed to follow-up at all in the two weeks since he applied the potential solution to offer alternatives. I reiterate that we have not received a satisfactory response and should not have to pay for a driveway coating with footprints. The driveway should be torn out and replaced and / or our money for the driveway should be refunded. At a minimum we should be refunded the dollars for the coating.
