Review: My wife was charged $140.00 for an oil change for a [redacted]. Labor cost was $13.00 +/-, Filter was $9.95+/- and the rest was for 6 Quarts of oil?? The truck only holds 5 Quarts?
[redacted] sells [redacted] for $8.99 a qt over the counter ( Were I was told they buy their oil). [redacted] sells in in 5 qt bottles for under $26.00. Because my Wife is Female The garage is taking her for a ride. Over filling the oil my do damage to the engine and void the warrenity from [redacted] as the truck as less the 10,000 miles on it. Taking advantage of females is wrong.Desired Settlement: Refund money so I can go somewere else to change the oil with 5qts of oil. The cost of taking of of work to do this again will be cheeper then what they have charged!

Response:
Dear [redacted]:
In response to the complaint case #[redacted], on November 6,2013 from [redacted].
His wife came to our shop for a synthetic oil change. She stated that she wanted [redacted]. We do not stock that oil, so therefor we ordered it from [redacted]. She owns a [redacted], Vin #[redacted], mileage [redacted]. When the job was completed [redacted] ask why the oil change was so much. She was advised because she had requested [redacted].
On November 7 [redacted] called spoke to [redacted] about the cost of the oil. She advised him that we could have used a cheaper synthetic oil, but [redacted] stated she wanted [redacted].
He called again and I answered his call. He started yelling at me that we had just done on oil change on his truck and over filled it. We were going to ruin his motor. I then ask him to calm down and give me his name so I could help him. He then gave me his name. I advised him to bring his vehicle back to Eddie's and we would be more than happy to take a look at it and check the oil level. If it did in fact have to much oil in it, we would drain it and refund the difference of the money.
His wife returned on November 8, we checked the oil level and it was right on the mark. I showed her the receipt for the price of the oil we purchased. She questioned getting money back. I told her if we had over filled it, then yes we would have drained it and refunded her money. She asked if I could call her husband and tell him, she said with the government lay off people were late paying him (he owns his own business).
I called him and advised him that the oil level was right on target. He said he had looked at it at night. He asked about a refund, I told him I could take a quart of oil out and it would be a quart low or we could leave it. He told me to leave it.
I also advised him that if he wanted to bring his own oil and filter in the future, he was welcome to do that, it would be $[redacted], since he told us he could get his oil cheaper at [redacted] or [redacted].
We are a family owned business for 50 years. We pride our staff and technicians on the principle of treating everyone with respect, especially women. We have three women service writers. I feel that we go out of the way to make everyone feel comfortable.
