In response to the accusation against me: The home owner called me and wanted me to find out why her water lines were freezing in the winterI discovered her main water line was only inches deep and outside it came up to about inches and branched off to the sinks and toilets, etcThese lines were to inches deep running under the house and coming up through the floorI explained that she needed to run new lines inside her house to stop them from freezing upThe home owner and I sat down and made a contract of things she wanted me to doNot only did I fulfill the contract, I put an expansion tank on her water heater, installed a new frost proof hydrant on her house, and fixed vents running outside her house at no additional chargeI finished the work and she signed the contract and gave me a check for the balance owedThe next day, I stopped in to look and make sure everything was good, and that's when she told me she wanted water in her garage, which is 20-feet away from her houseIf she had mentioned that when I had the trencher there, I would have done it, but it was not in the contractI read over the contract with her and could not make her understand that a detached garage was not part of her houseNow about the linoleum, she pulled a ripped piece of it back in her utility room, removed pieces of wood and showed me where she had thawed out her water linesNow she's saying I ripped the linoleum! I've been in this line of work for years or more and I go out of my way to do it right and to make my customers happy
