I live 3 hours away from [redacted] and was told by a doctor that I was going to see, at [redacted], that I needed to come prepared to possibly have surgery on Friday 11/11. So, I made the hotel reservation under my husband's name at Econo Lodge North [redacted], through a 3rd party, with the understanding that it could be canceled through the end of the day on 11/10. After making the 3 hour drive to [redacted] in the early morning of 11/10, I had a myriad of tests, and doctor appointments at the hospital, and surrounding medical buildings, that consumed my entire day until after 5:30pm. I did not find out until nearly 5:00pm that surgery was going to be postponed until later in the month. By the time I was finished with all of my tests, and appointments, I and my family had not eaten anything at all the entire day (I was unable to eat prior to some testing) and we stopped in the hospital cafeteria to get something to eat. We then made the 3 hour drive home which ended up taking us nearly 4 hours due to having to make several stops to care for my medical needs. When we arrived home my husband attempted to call and cancel our hotel reservation and was told he could not. I then got on the phone and contacted the 3rd party that I had booked the reservation through. They attempted to help me by contacting the hotel and requesting a cancelation waiver due to the medical circumstances surrounding my need for cancelation and inability to call earlier in the day. The "manager" told the 3rd party representative that she was unable to refund the money. I then contacted the hotel myself, a woman by the name of "Tink" answered the phone and when I asked to speak with a manager she identified herself as such. I politely explained my situation and requested a refund. She was very rude, cut me off when I was trying to speak, and told me that she was unable to give me a refund. After having spent the entire day between driving, doctor's offices, and the hospital, I was physically exhausted and became emotionally upset. I again tried to explain my situation with medical issues, tests, the hospital, and doctor's and asked the woman for her name again. I could hear her wrestling around and it sounded like she pulled the phone away so that it was harder for me to hear. I was still able to hear her as she began speaking with someone who appeared to be in the room with her. I heard her say "this lady thinks she wants a refund on her room" and then "Tink" began laughing and I could hear another laugh in the background. By the time she put the phone back up to her ear I was very irritated and told her that I was going to be filing a complaint, to which she responded by hanging up on me.

Review: My room was nasty with a bathroom ceiling that leaked from the room above. mildew all over the leaking hole. the tub faucets leaked more than the shower head. we booked online for a non-smoking room and was givin a smoking room next to people that looked like the have been there for months.Im white and my wife is black.(why put us in the back corner?) The door could have been opened with a credit card when no one was in there.( I did it just to see if I could. Very easily.) When we first pulled up in front of our room( Room 121), two black gentlemen was out front of room 123( to the right of ours) one of them had a gun under a towel, and showed it to me, possibly trying to intimidate me.we booked for two nights, june 12th and june 13th 2015. Did not stay on june 13th, and waiting to get paid back for one night. VERY DISAPPOINTED. hotel needs alot of maitenance.Desired Settlement: I feel I should be refunded for both nights, because my wife is a non-smoker. she got up in the morning throwing up and very sick. she booked non smoking online for a reason.

Review: Bed bugs in room at Econo Lodge in [redacted]. My daughter awoke this past Friday with dozens of bed bug bites and itching at 3am.She has developed a severe rash. She had to play in a vball tournament and had to deal with severe itching etc. She was checked by a doctor there and he said they were definately bed bug bites. I asked the woman at the front desk if they had bed bugs and she said they had a bed bug outbreak about a yr ago, but didnt think they had any. I asked for a different room and the room they gave me was smoke filled and filthy. I am entitled to an upgrade to a better room and that wad not given to me. I spoke to the owner [redacted] and asked for a refund and he saidthe hotel doesn't give refunds and that its not his problem.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for what I paid for the hotel (114.28) and I would like the hotel rooms to all be inspected for bedbugs. The hotel is so close to [redacted] and I don't wanna other children being bitten by bed bugs like my daughter was.
