I checked in to the Econo Lodge after 3am from driving a long way back to *** as I checked in I asked the question to the night *** (didn't have a name tag) what time will check out time be since it was 5/30/20 she told me it wouldn't be until 5/31/20 at 11am I told her ok I'll take the room as I was sleeping I heard a knock at the door I asked who was it look at the time it said 10:45am I look around the room because I was confused as I open the door this lady said check out time I said to her I was told I didn't check out until tomorrow she said ok and left the door I laid back down then the phone ring and it was the same lady from the door saying hey you check out time I told her I was gonna walk to the front and talk about the matter because my children was sleeping. As I walked up to the window the same lady said u have to go its check out time I let her know that the young lady that checked me in said checkout time wasn't until tomorrow. This lady came from behind the window on the side walk were I was and said I wasn't told that so u have to go she was so disrespectful and was walking toward me with no mask on I let her know to back because of the covid 19 she was saying all kinds of things using profanity and swearing I said to her I hope they all have a license to be operating this business pieces falling all outside of the ceiling
This is in response to the complaint by *** to the Revdex.com. I would first of all like to apologize to Ms. for being unhappy with her experience at Econo Lodge. However, her description of the events is much different than what I recall and what shows on camera. My name is ***, I am the Front Desk Manager here at Econo Lodge and I happened to be working the night that Ms. checked in. She checked in at 3:04am on 5/30/20, I asked her at the night window if she was ok with a room on the front side of the hotel because the back side was full, she responded that was fine. I set up her reservation, processed the payment, she signed her reservation form, I gave her the room key, explained where the room was located, she parked her car on the backside of the hotel, and went into her room alone. Ms. never asked what check out time was and I didn't mention it because I have personally checked in Ms. 3 times in the past few weeks. Her usual guest arrived at her room within 10 minutes of her check in. The next morning the housekeeping manager knocked on Ms. door at 11am to let her know that it was check out time. Ms. told her that she wasn't supposed to check out today so the housekeeping manager went to the office to speak to the owner of the business, who was working the front desk at that time, to find out if the guest was scheduled to stay over or check out. The owner called Ms. room to let her know that she was scheduled to check out that day, the guest said she was going to come to the office to discuss this matter. Ms. came to the front desk at the night window to speak to the owner. We are doing some remodeling at the hotel and it was loud near the office so the owner stepped outside to speak with Ms.. I would like to note that the owner was the only one wearing a mask. The cameras do not have audio so I am not able to hear the conversation, but Ms. seemed to be very agitated, throwing her arms around, and yelling, which is easy to tell since she wasn't wearing a mask. The owner said that she offered the guest a late check out of 2pm, but Ms. was not happy with that so she returns to her room for 30 to 45 minutes, walks to her car alone, and drops her key off at the night window. There are no children seen on camera at any time so I'm not sure how the phone call would have woken them up as the complaint states. I understand Ms. desired settlement is 'to make sure we are licensed to run a business and to make sure we are US citizens.' To address that we have been in business for 26 years and our business license is in view of the front desk as required by Virginia Law. Thank you.
