They Ruined my car and didn't want to refund or redo. They said that they will redo but it will look the same.
This is a horrible horrible paint shop! They ruin cars! Yes, they are cheap, but if you buy a spray can paint from Autozone and spray your car yourself or your 3 year old kid sprays it, the result will be 100 times better than this shop! They use the worst materials. They probably take dust and sprinkle it all over the car right after they finish painting. Paint is so dull and wavy. They lie to their costumers! After you pay them , they will treat you like a garbage. Dominick is their manager who is the worst. He is so rude, he actually told us that he treats all costumers like *** , and he doesn't care that our car turned out like a junk after their paint work. The lady on front desk is also super rude and actually doesn't have any idea about paint work, quality and cars in general. They ruined my car and didn't want to redo it or give a refund.

Desired Outcome

refund so I can pay another shop to fix what they did to my car.

First, I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused Mr. and his used car lot. After speaking with him about the services performed and the expectations he had I offered to look over the vehicle, review his concerns and give him options to correct. Mr. informed me he had already taken the vehicle somewhere else to have work done before I could see his concerns on the work he received. Unfortunately without seeing the vehicle I am unable to rectify Mr. concerns. I appreciate Mr. and his business and apologize again for any misunderstanding that has occurred.

Customer Response • Jun 14, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The owner decided to contact me it was 3-4 weeks after his shop screwed my car.
When I took it back to his shop to correct the issue, his manager told me to go *** myself, and that he would not do anything to fix this issue, also he said that he does this *** job to EVERYBODY and that he "doesn't give a *** if costumer doesn't like it! OF COURSE after hearing that I took my truck to another place because this is my business and I need to sell my cars and not to sit on them and wait weather the owner might call me (STRICTLY FROM PRIVATE NUMBER, Maybe he is afraid that his costumers will find out his phone number.... Weird!) , or might never call me! That's why I took it to other place to fix it and take my losses. After I did that, about 4 weeks passed and THE OWNER him self called me (from private) and said that he will think about it and see what he can do....
He was thinking for another 2 weeks or so, and then I missed a call or two from PRIVATE number , and of course I couldn't call back, he never called me again. Another 2-3 weeks passed and I'm reading his reply about that he can not do anything because I already took the truck somewhere else so they can fix the mess that Econo Paint did. OF COURSE I WILL TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE, I can not wait for 2 month without even knowing that owner will call me someday!!!
What a company I'll tell you.......... I need my refund. I Will take it to news if I have to! I will leave a million APPROPRIATE reviews on google maps, also I will post an article on Reddit and Yelp. If this great company can not afford $800 to make things right with one client (and I was potentially pretty big client for them because I buy and paint around 5-8 cars a week)
, then maybe they can afford to loose thousands of clients!

"SURPRISINGLY SUB-PAR WORK IS NOT MY MAIN COMPLAINT, 654 MILES IS!!!"
I went to the shop on 4/1/19, and man did I get April Fooled! I had a scratch on my SUV from almost the front of my back passenger door to just touching the back bumper, and some smudges on the brake light. I was given a quote that morning for $426.40 for just the back door and the back quarter panel, no bumper. I thanked the guy and told him I'd let him know once I spoke with my mom, whom was going to help me pay for it. He said that if I brought it back to him by the end of the day, he would do the job for $350 out the door, AND would throw in the back bumper. So I said ok, and went and got 2 more quotes. They both resulted to be more expensive, so around 5:15pm that day I went back and allowed them to work on my vehicle. Around noon on Thursday 4/4/19, I get a call from the shop saying my vehicle is ready for pick up. I get there and I immediately go to inspect it. The first thing I noticed was how extremely dirty and dusty it was. They did not even have the decency to rinse it off, as to hide their sub-par work under the dust. I continued to inspect and wipe the door, quarter panel, & back bumper off with my hand to see their work, and as I mentioned before, it was sub-par at best. The paint was not an exact match as I was told it would be. The whole side of the door was extremely dull and did not match the front door, or rest the SUV. They also left what appeared to be either dirt flying as they were painting or a dirty paint gun tip spitting small bumpy spots in the paint on the door. Now being this alone sufficient for a complaint, it's my main issue. I said to myself "You get what you pay for, right?". However, after I went in and paid the guy, I get in my SUV and I immediately notice that my gas tank was near empty, and when I dropped it off it had at minimum a half tank. So then I grab the receipt that was left on the dash board and notice the miles say 62,176. Then I look at my odometer and it showed 62,830. So I immediately go back in the shop and tell the guy there is almost a 700 mile difference from the receipt THEY GAVE ME, and my odometer. He chuckingly said, "There's no way we put those miles on there." So I showed him THEIR receipt and took him to see my odometer, which I had not even moved it yet. He continued to deny it as I was showing him the proof. Then when I mentioned my gas he said, "Well I guess do you want $20 for gas?" I said,"You need to give me something for those 700 miles!" So we went back inside and he gives me a $20 bill. At this point I was so irate being that I this had made me late to pick up my son from school for a Dr.'s appt., and of being hopeful of being treated as a valued patron, and wanting to possibly bring more work, and referrals, I just took the $20 and stormed out. As the days went on I continued to noticed things on the SUV that were not there. Such as scratches on the door/ceiling fabric, slight scratch along back window, air-vent handles missing/broken. Now mind you, I had just bought the SUV on 03/23/19, so these things would not have been there. I have attached pictures of their receipt along with a picture of my odometer, which shows the day & time taken. It clearly shows the mileage difference when the SUV is in their possession. Please help. Also, they are a CASH ONLY BUSINESS... Hmmmm?? I wonder why??

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a full refund from the company for every single thing mentioned in my complaint, and for abusing my trust as a patron and driving my vehicle without my permission, and putting all those miles on it. Also, for the EXTREME RISK of having something happen while they were driving it wherever they did.

Mr.,

I apologize for your inconvenience with this matter and look forward to resolving it quickly. After speaking with the Manager who assisted you on the delivery day of your vehicle about your concerns here is what I understand occurred: At no time was the dust/vehicle being dirty mentioned at pick up, the incorrect mileage was recoreded at the time the Work Order was written and signed by you, we do not check gas gauges at time of drop off since we do not take customers vehicles off property so the 700 miles mentioned is a clerical error. Besides the mileage/gas issue I'm being told you loved the job we performed on your SUV by not only the Store Manager but by another Management employee that was in the office during the delivery. On to the items you mentioned that have been noticed since the delivery I cannot comment on except our procedure is for you to take the vehicle back to the N Tampa location and go over your concerns with the Store Manager. The dull paint you mentioned and sub-par body work also need to mentioned so he can inspect it and advise if and/or when a warranty repair would be scheduled. Also, since you just purchased the vehicle on 3/23/19 you should have the mileage at purchase on your papaerwork. This should show that the mileage written on 4/1/19 on your Work Order was nothing more than a clerical error. Please attach a copy of our Work Order and a copy of your SUV purchase invoice for comparison with your response. Or, you can bring them both with you to the shop for review when you bring in the SUV for your warranty claim. Thank yo for your patronage and we look forward to resolving your issues quickly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Econo Auto Paint on Florida Ave in Tampa painted my car, however after 3 months dark spots bleed through and I took the car back.. The manager told me he would not honor the warranty, but repaint it for $300 even though he had a sign posted for $249.00. I would not advise you to take your car their either because he will not honor his warranty and he wants to charged people more than he has posted in the front of his business.
