Terrible company that has no customer service. They not care about customer just the money
When a customer starts calling our technician and officer manager liars they have lost all credibility. Both employees have been with our company for well over 10 years so my benefit of the doubt goes with them. Especially after personally hearing your RUDE comments loudly through a phone I was not even close to.
I hope today and tomorrow are better days for you as it appears you have chosen to use this site for grumbling only. Take care, be well..
Well yes I get upset when you call my wife a liar. I caught you in two bold face lies. You seem to not remember them. Do you recall saying “I misspoke”? Those were lies. You have no idea what customer service is. I would caution everyone not to do business with you. Also when your agent came to my house to pick up remainder of balance I had to pay you, he walked through my landscaping. What was wrong with the sidewalk that every other person uses? Oh, right. You do things your way and don’t care about the customer once you get their money. I hope you treat other customers better than you treated my wife.
I ordered a security door at the home show. They were quick to send out a representative to sell me the door. Six weeks later I had to call to find out the status on the door. They "said oh it is ready and the installer will be here ...," no phone call to set up appointment or no communication. A couple of months later the center screen is loose, I called and they said it would be a fee to come and repair. So I ordered a different type of center screen to prevent same thing from happening again. Weeks later no communication. I called again and "oh its ready installer will be there ... " Installer come and screen is wrong size. He ordered another screen. Weeks later I called again. Same thing "oh its ready and installer will be there ..." Never showed. Called again, A mistake at factory, Installer will be here" . Never showed. Called again, same answer. See the pattern here. No communication. They do not care about their customers once they sell the door. Poor service and poor communication. Never again.
Although our lead time is generally six weeks out your installation date is provided at the beginning of the process so there really was no 'guessing' when your door would be installed. The center screen was discussed at the time of your purchase as a possible issue, however; you opted to go with the bottom metal panel only. When the problem did arise you then decided to have the metal screen installed in the middle as well.
Our apologies it was not made the correct size the first time, sometimes when everything you do it custom work, things do happen. I'm glad you are finally satisfied with your new door. Please feel free to call the office should you need support in the future.
The door and installation is awful. The door and frame are both warped but the installer forced the install anyway with crooked screws and excessive use of caulk to fill in the massive gaps. The frame is warped 5/8". The installer put wood shims in the door frame and tried to cover with caulk in an attempt to hide the large gap created by the warped door. I ordered an oil rubbed bronze handle to match the doorbell and light in the entry. They installed a cheapy, used silver handle. They will not put an oil rubbed bronze handle because they state the company quit making them. The way they fabricate their door, only this one brand of door handle will fit so the only option is the cheap silver one they put on it. I told him this is a make/break for me and I was never asked if this was acceptable prior to installation. His response to me was "you bought the door" and "there's nothing we can do about the handle because they are not available anymore". He then offered me $70 for the handle but I can't buy one myself because no standard handle fits this door. I would never have purchased a door with a silver handle. Aside from the handle this door is a disaster. It is completely warped as is the frame. It should never have been installed. The installer clearly knew this door and frame were warped because of what he did to try and hide it. The fact the installer installed this door as it is tells me this company doesn't care about the quality or the customer and definitely doesn't respect the customers home. Once this door is removed I will have damage to repair. I asked them to take the door back and give me my money back and they said they'd take the door back but not return my money. The owner did call me and said he's sending out another installer to "look at the door" in 2 weeks to see how they can fix it. This door cannot be fixed - I already had a contractor look at it and it cannot be fixed. The pictures will show that this "custom" door is anything but custom. Custom means it should fit seamlessly and look like it was made for this house. I am forced to file a complaint with the Contractor's Board because this company will not take the door back and refund my money. I wish I could post pictures here but I have posted them on other review sites if you want to see the shoddy work this company did.
Recently, my husband and I had a security door installed by S/A AZ. The door is beautiful and well constructed. From our initial appointment to install, S/A made this process seamless. Our salesman, Ed explained in detail the entire process, assisted with design, color and options. The install tech, (don't know his name) was very professional and pleasant. He, also, explained the install process and very & clean. We couldn't be happier with this door. We highly recommend this company.
Thank you Steel Advantage AZ
We are glad everything was to your liking. Steel Advantage strives very hard to ensure each customer has a pleasant experience. I will pass along kudos to both your salesman and installer, both which have been with our company for many years.
Thank you again,
The Steel Advantage Team
Absolute worse customer service EVER! They were so eager to come set the appointment and take my money. All was going great until.... the day we were scheduled for the install. It was supposed to be between 8am and 10am. HA! I called the office at 9:45 letting them know that no one has called or showed up. They said well they should be there soon they left the shop about 30 minutes ago. After about 6 more calls to the main office speaking to Sam and no real concern (they had my money what did they care) finally got a call from Andy saying would be there at 2pm. No one showed up until 3pm. I even called and texted the sales man Woody and got NO RESPONSE. They installed the door and the installer said that he is sorry but it wasn't his fault that when he got there to pick up our door, it wasn't even completed yet. It wasn't keyed to match our keys like we had requested. There were holes in the bottom where you could see there and you couldn't even do the double lock. After calling the office again to find out when they would be out to fix the situation they stated could come out on a week day. Well that wasn't going to work, I had already missed a full day of work so I told them it had to be done on a Saturday and Sam said OK. Well Thursday the following week rolled around and no one has called to tell me when they would be there on Saturday. When I called the office Sam said it was scheduled for Saturday between 12 -2pm and Richard the foreman would be out. Richard called that Saturday morning at about 9:40 and said would be there shortly. However once Richard got there.... talk about ATTITUDE. This man is supposed to be the foreman and want to make things right for this company. Well let me tell you.... I have referred this company to a friend and sincerely apologized to them for this. They are having even more issues than what we had. I don't know how this company can say that they have an A+ with the Revdex.com when I and my friend have had such poor customer service. I think companies forget that they are built by word of mouth and they can fail by word of mouth just as easy. They also say that they pay referral fees, well my friend that referred them to me has never received her referral fee and I haven't received mine either. I highly recommend people to AVOID this company and go with one that actually takes pride in their work and acts as though they might care about repeat business along with a salesman / woman that will reach out to their customers when things aren't going right. I WOULD AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and the product isn't done right the first time and you will end up waiting even longer to have it fixed. To have a foreman come to the house to fix something and have complete attitude, is just down right sad. I feel bad for anyone that uses this company, I mean if you don't mind going through the hassle of things being great upfront then down hill until the end, by all means... this is your company. If you are looking for a company that has a sales man that cares about what is going on after they take your money, a company that will make sure things are done right the first time and a foreman that will show up and be respectful... this is NOT the company you want to use. I was thinking that based on some of reviews that maybe this was just a one off, but now seeing some of the other reviews and seeing that my referral is having the same issues, I guess this is how they do business now. it sad because the door is beautiful but the service and how they treat you once they have your money is awful. Not sure how they can advertise an A+ with the Revdex.com?
WOW, very sorry your door arrived late. Since all of our products are full custom made there are times when an adjustment must be made to a design. I'm glad to see your product was successfully installed as shown by your signature on our completion sheet. My apologizes for your customer service frustration, when you read our many, many online reviews you can see this is not the norm. I'm just glad at the end of the day you received the quality door completion that we are known for.

If you are a person of "Color" do not buy anything from this Company. As a matter of fact that are not going to sell you anything anyway if you are "Black". On January 12, 2019 I along with my wife decided to look for a replacement Security Storm Door for our house. So we went to the location on 2640 N. 37th Ave Phoenix AZ and met with a representative that was at that location. He referred us to a person by the name of "Woody" who just happens to be very ***. The first question out of his mouth when he entered our house was how did it feel to be a Black man living in Phoenix and in society. This had nothing to do with selling a security storm door. He however took the order and when we called to pay for the door he never answered his phone. We called him at least 10 times. But however we would like to thank him. We found another place who had no problem with us being Black and took our order for the same door at a $500.00 dollar savings. Woody quoted a price of $1,600.00 and we purchased the same door at another place for $1,100.00 and they will remove the old door and discard it. So if you are a person of "Color" stay away from this place..
This is so ridiculous it's hard to comment. Woody has been with us for almost 20 years and does not have a racist bone in his body. However; I do see this is not 'your' first review complaining about racism. Very sorry but you've accused the wrong company.
Well I am sorry to inform you that you salesmen is racist. But as I can see you are still harping on a situation that happened last year. This is my opinion of your salesmen !!!!
Also with a population of being only 6.8% to be Black. Phoenix has a lot of racist businesses and this is one of them..
You were not present to the conversation that I had with your salesmen in regards to being Black and living in Arizona. This was the first question that your salesmen ask me. This had nothing to do with taking an order for a Steel Door. The man explained to me that he was raised in a racist household all of his family members are racist and hehad never been around Black people before. His father moved to Arizona from the Midwest in the early 70's and was very racist. So an apple does not fall to far from the tree!!!!
You also made a comment about this is not my first time talking about racism. Being a 64 year old Black Man !!! I have been faced with racism all of my life. So if anyone understands it I definately do!!! You will never understand it because you are not a Black person living in America!!!!
I wish you only the best...
I was excited to purchase a door from Steel Advantage (located at *** 37th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009) - SO YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO READ THIS. I’d seen them at many Home & Garden Shows in Maricopa County Arizona, and loved the look and quality of the “Weather Vein” color for a front security door. I’d owned a condo where I’d purchased a lessor quality security door from *** yet it was nice in that I could see out, but it was secure in privacy where no one could see me inside. When I bought my current home, there was already a very well made enameled security front door from ***, that had even better security and privacy with my being able to see out, but no one could see in - not even if I had lights on inside the house. I was in love with this door, except for the enameled cream-white color, yet painting it would cause it to become a maintenance issue. When I had the house repainted, the new colors did not match the security door as well, so I had to determine if I would just repaint the enameled door, or splurge and buy a new one with Steel Advantage like I’d always wanted. I contacted Steel Advantage from the Home & Garden Show flyer I had kept, and asked them if they had the kind of security door where I would be able to see out, but that no one could see in for privacy purposes, as that feature was very important for me. I was assured that YES, that absolutely was a feature that their doors had. I was thrilled. Tony came to my home 04/13/2018, and we had a great conversation even though I was in the middle of a month long bout of laryngitis. I showed him my current *** door, and that I was in love with the security and privacy feature of no one being able to see in, as being able to keep my door open whenever the temps were under 80 degrees was very important to me, and I wanted that freedom and privacy. Tony acknowledged it, agreed with me, and knew what features I wanted. As far as I knew, Tony and I were completely on the same page, communication was very good, I selected a classic simple design so that the HOA would have no qualms in approving it, and he wrote the order up. The order sheet stated it was for a Horizon Door, oversized (my doorway is 9ft tall), Weather Vein (color), Hinge right, and Antique Brass-Kwikset door handle. Based on our detailed conversation, I had no doubt I was getting a beautiful, quality security door, that was going to be every bit as secure and private as my *** door currently provided. The price before the the Home & Garden Show discount was a hefty $1154, after discount it was $943. Yes, I winced, but I also felt I was making an investment in my forever home, and I felt that seeing the beauty and quality of that door every day would be totally worth it. Delivery time was set as 05/22/2018, so the wait began.
Fast forward to the delivery date, 05/22/2018. There as no phone call or contact from anyone since the order sheet was done 04/13/2018, although I did try to call them the day prior to get an estimated ETA, but the recording had said they closed at 4pm and my call was almost 5pm. Tony had explained to me that I did not need to be home for the installation, which I was glad as I’d missed a lot of work with the bronchitis and laryngitis. While I had no idea what time they’d be showing up, I expected normal business hours - and I was wrong. At 6:30am - yes, 6:30AM!! My doorbell rings! I’m getting ready for work, still not dressed, but here was the installation guy! On one hand I was glad he was there to get it done, but on the other hand I needed to keep getting ready for work and could not delay, so that was not so great. We discussed I had pets, so it was important to keep the main door shut, and he had no problem with that. An hour later I really needed to leave, so I walked outside via the garage door, drug the old security door inside the garage, and walked around to the front of the house. The installation guy (I’d asked him his name but now can’t remember, maybe Brian?).. he was working on the frame, the security door was open, so I wasn’t getting a real view of it. I happily said the color certainly matched better than the cream colored door had, and then added the remark confirming that this door feature was the type you couldn’t see in from the outside when it was closed. That is when I entered HELL. The installation guy said no, you can see right in. *Alarmed reaction*** I said "What? Wait - no! That’s not right, you’re not supposed to be able to see in!!”... and I quickly walked over to inspect the door. In reaching out to touch it - the insert of the door was SCREEN MOSQUITO NETTING!! I was beyond horrified, I didn't even know they made security doors with mosquito netting screen.. and while still trying to talk with laryngitis I said “Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!! There’s a mistake!! This is NOT what I ordered!! Stop! Whoa! This is WRONG!!" .. Again, it was like I had entered the Twilight Zone of HELL, and Satan was home. The installation guy was anything but nice or polite, instead he was a downright jerk with horse blinders on. He would not stop, he would not listen, he told me it wasn’t his problem, that “he was going by the contract that I signed”, that "I’d SIGNED THE CONTRACT”, and he was just there to finish the install and follow the contract I signed. The phase “I’d SIGNED THE CONTRACT” was for the next few hours, going to be the response back to me by the Installer, Tony, and Sam .. an experience like I’d sold my soul to Satan without realizing it. It was pure horror.. I can’t even express that enough. The installation guy told me that for the steel panels I wanted - was and additional $300!!! I immediately felt bait and switch, but I was trying to hope this was just all a misunderstanding. The installation guy told me I had to call my sales person, which was Tony, and despite needing to get to work, I went inside the house to find the number and did that. It was 7:55am, Tony answered sounding confused and distracted, said he down in (Tempe/Mesa?) wasn’t in range yet, and for me to call the office and talk with Sam who would be in the office in 5 minutes. I tried calling the office immediately, but got the recording that the office wasn’t open until 8:30am - another 35 minutes rather than the 5 Tony said. I tried leaving a message, but their voicemail is messed up and as I was just a few sentences in of leaving a message, it cut off and said "that wasn’t a valid option". ??
Fast forward to getting ahold of Sam a few minutes before 8:30am, and he is NOT a happy camper, blocked me with the quote “I’d SIGNED THE CONTRACT”, and he didn’t know WHY Tony would tell me to call him because he had nothing to do with it, and I needed to deal with Tony. This door was NOT a cheap purchase, I was sick beyond belief. My calls to Tony from that point on went straight to voicemail. This literally ruined my entire day at work, I was so distraught that it was hard to stay focused, and on break I tried calling Tony again, but had to leave a voicemail that I was going to be in interviews and wouldn’t be available for the rest of the day. Ironically, Tony called when I was already done with break, but I was able to take the call which I only imagined he had timed it hoping he’d just leave a voicemail message. It was a horrible experience. Nothing I said was listened to, it was as though there was a complete disconnect that they did anything wrong, or that anything ever could go wrong, it was entirely MY FAULT, he said he does over 100 customers per month, and MINE was the FIRST ever with a problem. He restated many times that "EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT on the paperwork!”, which was another phrase that would be quoted to me constantly, and put in text messages, and if I wanted the type of privacy screen where no one could see in it was ANOTHER $300! Bait and Switch Scam, that was exactly how it felt. The order in fact, had NO information on it that I was getting mosquito netting screens rather than a quality made security door entirely made of hard metal construction with the secure and private feature of being able to see out - but not be able to see in for privacy that we’d discussed in detail. I physically showed him the *** door I had - pointed out the features of what I wanted - there was no miscommunication! NOTHING indicated anything was amiss on the order sheet. NOTHING led me to believe that anything other than we clearly discussed had been ordered. I had NO way to know that what we clearly discussed in detail wasn’t on that order sheet. NOTHING - but I can tell you now what IS on that order sheet, is that if ANYTHING is wrong - you only got 72 HOURS FROM SIGNING IT to say something - or your $500 deposit (they required) is NON-Refundable!!! Yet HOW are you supposed to know anything is wrong if it is 8 WEEKS until you get the product??????? I felt Scammed, complete and utter Home & Garden Show SCAMMED. Tony by the way hung up on me, which I don’t blame him because I was squeaky yelling and wanted to hang up on him too. The conversation was going nowhere.
I already knew at that point that something probably needed said on YELP, Google Reviews, and the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) site, but when Tony left me a voicemail and text very shortly afterward doing a complete 180 degree, both apologizing for the frustration, but backhanding the apology by restating "they were following the contract which he said was correct" (i.e. it was my fault and they were correct), and there was no $300 charge for perforated metal screen, so actually per the contract “I” had ordered the door without a metal screen - but they were going to (graciously) GIVE it to me. .. !!! ??? !!! First off, I didn’t even KNOW they made any type of door other than the privacy metal one we’d discussed in detail. It was NEVER an option to have any other type of door insert, and I certainly didn’t know the quote I was given was without it, and instead was with a mesh mosquito netting screen.. I’m just floored, disgusted, and sickened with this company Steel Advantage. I’ve since read the Yelp, Google, and Revdex.com reviews on this company, at it is this company’s M.O. to be passive-aggressive and put the blame back on the customer IN - EVERY - CASE. It is sickening.
Another sickening note.. the door handle - came with key entry/exit locks on BOTH sides, this meant in order to even get OUT the door - you needed to have a key! The extreme danger issue of this went rampant in my now exhausted mind, as in the event of any emergency, I’d have to find a key before I could even use the front of my house as a viable option as an exit. I did have several times where I’d go to the door, then have to turn around and go get the key to even go out the front door. The dread of having to contact Tony to even address this was awful, but I managed a text to him the next day: “The new door is key entry from both sides. Do you have door hardware that is a turn “latch” on the inside so that you can exit the front door without using a key?” ….. His response: “Yes it’s already on your work order to change to a single cylinder lock when the perf screen is added. Thx” … … … WELL COULD YOU HAVE LET A GIRL KNOW???? This to me was a simple common sense, professional courtesy of open communication, and good customer relations, even without the current Public Relations issue as far as I saw it to have let me know right away, but that concept just didn’t exist with them.
Still - I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and allow them to fix the issue. Tony’s message and text said "they were not going to charge me the “additional” $300 for the metal inserts so I should be very happy I saved $300" - which honestly I thought I was paying for anyway with the initial $1154 quote, but I understand this again is their M.O. to customers. I got a call 05/30/2018 from Sam that the installation was going to be Friday, 06/01/2018, no exact time mentioned, but we made arrangements on where the keys would be as I had no time to ask off work to be there. I figured the fact I got a call at all was at least a step in the right direction, until of course that day when I got home. I was hoping for the best, I honestly was, but as I walked toward the front door going straight from the garage to check it out… I could SEE my front door through the security door, and my heart dropped. My first thought was that they hadn’t actually shown up, I still had mosquito screen netting on a metal door frame. I reached out and touched it - and was horrified all over again. It was metal. They had been there, they installed “free” $300 perforated metal inserts to my beautiful door.. and you could see straight through it like it was mosquito netting. Worse yet, when the inside door is open, and especially when the light is on - you can SEE EVERYTHING inside!!!! There is NO Security - NO PRIVACY - anyone walking by or up to my door gets a FULL VIEW of me and my home contents before I even know they are there!! There is NO EXCUSE for this company STEEL ADVANTAGE and their practices. Did I contact them since this “free” $300 install? NO. After what they’ve put me through, I saw yet another passive-agressive bait and switch of it being double in price if I wanted screens that were actually private. There was NO miscommunication of what product I ordered, I don’t care if they wrote Tinker Bell on the contract. I ordered a Metal Security Door with the type of insert that protected both with Security and PRIVACY when my inside door is open. They DID NOT DELIVER, Steel Advantage is a complete FAIL in my experience. I cannot say I’d ever recommend them to anyone because in EVERY instance where I have had to discuss this experience so far I can do nothing but WARN people against using them. It’s just instant and automatic, no one should have been put through this awful experience.
What I DO want, is for some OTHER company to FIX Steel Advantage's FAIL. I want metal inserts (that match the door) to where I can see out, but my privacy is protected and anyone outside cannot see in. Does this void Steel Advantage’s whatever warranty? Seriously at this point does it even matter?? No matter what they take my $500 deposit, and I still owe the balance. My perfectly wonderful HOME DEPOT door is in my garage and promised to a woman that has cancer (not kidding), so somehow even giving the door back to Steel Advantage is a disaster for me. Steel Advantage cannot even back their current product, so any warranty is a moot issue. The entire process with Steel Advantage has been nothing but a JOKE. Steel Advantage FAILED, even after they had full reign to fix it. It’s a complete FAIL. Somehow both Lowe’s AND *** can sell a much cheaper security door where privacy and security IS protected for the home owner by anyone outside not being able to see in, yet the home owner can see out, but this concept is elusive to Steel Advantage. It’s a complete Fail.
WOW- This again proves that no good deed goes unpunished. At the first appointment this customer inquired about 'privacy screen', to which I responded that there is no such thing as 'total privacy screen'. The way it works is during the day when it's light outside, you can see out but other's can see in. At night it reverses so when you have the lights on inside and it's dark outside, now they can see you but you can't see them.
We further discussed that we could add the metal screening she was considering, however; it was a $300 option which is why I wanted to be clear about what it will and won't do, and that it is NOT required for security with our doors. I did not push for this up sale because we are an ethical company that always considers the customers needs first. This customer gladly agreed not to spend the extra $300 which you will see on her receipt that is was 'never ordered, nor paid for'.
Later at the time of installation this particular customer decided to call me screaming (I'm not one that takes kindly to being screamed at - just saying) that her door was wrong and did not have the metal screen. I pulled a copy of the order and calmly discussed with her that she choose 'not' to pay the additional $300 for metal screens and that her door was exactly was she and I discussed, ordered and was invoiced for.
In the interest of customer service, even though the metal screens were not ordered, nor paid for, I told the customer I would have the factory make her the metal screens 'at no cost' and a tech would come out to install them once they were ready. They have now been installed, at no charge in the interested of customer service. But once again, we all know the 'type' and this customer fits the mold.
As you will see by our many great reviews, we try to make every customer happy. That said, we all also understand there will always be 'that one'. This was ours.
Enjoy your new door, with the $300 in metal screens you didn't pay for. It's customers like this that makes us feel punished when we try to do the right thing to satisfy a customer.
Lastly, it true. You can purchase a security door from a big box store that comes with metal screens for less money. PLEASE compare our quality vs the Chine made doors on the shelf she is referring to. She had one on her house to start with and told me she was 'extremely upset' because the first sales person she had out told her it was junk. I did not comment as anyone in the industry, or any customer doing their research knows the low level of quality in a door imported from China. As in most things we purchase, we get the quality level we are willing to pay for.
This customer has shown a very poor attitude and judgement, however; we will continue to treat each any every one of our customers with the full respect and not let one bad apple change our many, many, positive customer experiences. As we did for this customer, we always try to come up with the best solution for everyone involved. This experience provided a complaining customer with $300 in products she didn't order.
I'll stop here. We do literally thousands of doors each year and if this is as bad as it gets, 'life it good today'. In the future I'm in hopes this customer gains a better outlook on life. Life is to short to wake each day with an attitude.
After much HOA delay, my two doors (security door and front gate) were finally ordered with Eco Advantage on 4/11. Installation was scheduled for 5/27. On 5/27, Eco showed up to install the door, but had used the wrong color. In subsequent conversations, Sam at Eco Advantage tried to blame this error on me, but I have the original paperwork showing the color as TBD, the HOA documentation asking for rust and the phone records showing I told my salesperson Jim both were to be rust. Okay, fine. Eco "agreed" to recolor my gate. First installation, wrong color AND they did not have the equipment to change the lock to match. Okay, fine. Second installation was a week later, the door is now the matching color, but, alas, they forgot the gating part to keep my dog from slipping through the gate. This is a HUGE problem. Installation guy says he will get it scheduled for the following week. No word from Eco, so I call. Sam...dear Sam...said he could not install the dog gating until 6/27 - NEARLY 2.5 MONTHS SINCE THE ORDER. Okay, I was upset. I asked for a credit of the dog gate or some kind of consideration for the horrific customer service (keep in mind these gates are quite expensive) - my dog had already escaped and given us all a heart attack. Sam was awful. Said HE WOULD SUE ME if I left an honest review on yelp (I got snarky and said go ahead). For a door that should have been done right the first time....or the second time...and to now have to wait and not allow my dog to roam our backyard for another month is completely unacceptable. An apology, kind words and a credit of the $65 dog gate would have been just fine. But, no. Sam raised his voice (which I matched, not my finest hour, but he was unbelievably rude) and threatened to sue me. There are other companies that actually care about their customers. This one does not. STAY AWAY.
p.s. Eco Advantage includes a provision in their contract that states you cannot discuss any dispute with the company, which under the Under the Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016 is completely illegal and unenforceable.
When a customer orders a Custom Product from our company and it has to be approved by their Home Owners Association (HOA) in advance, that is between the customer and their HOA. We have no control over how long it takes their HOA to approve their project. When a customer advises us that they have now received the HOA approval, we then send the order to our production department to get the order moving forward. The customer said she contacted her salesman and asked for her door and gate to be made in a Rust color. Our salesmen's notes show this customer asked for the door to be Weather Vein color, and the gate to be Rust color. We made the products in the colors as ordered. When our technician arrived to install the products the customer said she wanted them both Rust color, however; now that she saw the Weather Vein color she liked it better and wanted both products to be Weather Vein color and that she would take her chances with her HOA not noticing they are not Rust color. We installed the Weather Vein colored door and agreed to redo the gate from Rust color to Weather Vein color. We stripped the Rust color and re-powder coated the gate to Weather Vein (at our expense to accommodate the customer) and installed the gate. The following week the customer called to say the gate was missing a bottom screen to keep her dog in her yard. We checked and agreed it was still here in the factory from the re-powder job. We returned and installed the screen. The customer insisted on a discount which we denied. The customer stated that she was an 'Attorney' and would pursue this further. The customer received the products she ordered, in the color she desired (in violation of her HOA) and we felt no discount was warranted.
If you research our company and reviews, you will find that this review is an oddity. we try very hard to work with, and please, each and every customer. Every once and a while you run across a customer you just cannot satisfy, however; we will continue to do our very best for each and every customer, every time.
