On July 31 I went on the *** Website to look at apartments and started the leasing process online. I decided to put a hold on apartment ***. In the process, but without much description, it had me sign the lease before I was fully approved for the apartment. I tried to contact the property and the 24/7 leasing call center to set up an appointment to see the apartment, but I never got a call back from the property. I also tried to use the online contact portal which would not respond when I clicked send. I never received a copy of the lease or documents I signed.
om leaser *** with a welcome letter. Finally w/ a direct contact at the property I responded that I could not move to Peabody after the lack of contact from the property thinking I was not approved. On August 14 I received a lease break bill for $23,725.08.
The property did agree to backtrack if I reactivated the lease on 8/20. I asked to review the lease I had signed before agreeing. They refused to send me a copy of the lease claiming it was bc I canceled so I will not in good faith agree to something I unknowingly signed and cannot review.
There are 2 separate processes to apply for an apartment home, online there is an application, once completed it requires a deposit to secure a unit. Once approved then, someone is routed to a lease signing reviewing the process in the final stage. The lease is a lengthy legal document that requires multiple signatures of the prospective renter. Mr. had to successfully applied, been approved, then signed an entire lease to rent. He was well aware of the process as the online system again, makes you sign, confirm and verify through the entire process. We do have records of the application and executed lease.
