Never showed for moving date. Didn’t call or offer backup plan when we had a signed contract
I hired Eastern Connection Movers and signed contract that said loading and unloading for 500 for a 1 bedroom apartment. They started working and was also complaining and I told the workers I would take care of them don’t worry I’ll gvie you guys a nice tip, they would start working again. Finally after them working very slow and broke most of my furniture we arrived to our new place with the truck and movers. When they emptied 25% of the truck the boss said he had to go and needs payment so his workers don’t just take off with all the money. We trusted him and gave him 500 cash in front of another cleaning service that was also in the apartment cleaning the apartment with me. We didn’t know a company would do something unprofessional like this. Within 5 min all three disappeared after we paid him! I filed a police report and pressing charges for service theft. Can you also get involved please! So they don’t do this to another innocent family again. Than I went and had to look for more movers and hire them. It was a disaster they made me miserable with this move. PLEASE HELP!!

We are in receipt of your email to a complaint filed by a *** Complaint Id # ***. Here is our response.
This was for Labor only as the customer rented their own *** Truck and our crew was only told to load and unload only. Our crew worked hard in a building that had only one elevator and the elevator was constantly being used by tenants so this slowed us down. Yes, the cost was for $ 500.00 however, we were never told that there was a second floor at the delivery and there was a long flight of steps they had to go up with very heavy items.
When our team arrived at the destination they were then told about the second floor and steps and no elevator. This then changed the cost because of the long flight carry up as this was not included in the quotation because if it was then it would be noted. When our supervisor confronted the client about the extra charges for the flight carry they were basically rebuffed and expected that the men would carry up the second floor for free. We then collected the $ 500.00 Dollars and out of a courtesy carried a few large heavy items up the steps which left half the truck to be emptied not a full truck and our crew left as they said they would. Our company will not work for free and doesn't appreciate the whole story being shielded unto we got to the location for delivery.
There was no theft, and if anything got damaged it would be because of the customers lack of having blankets (enough) to cover all items properly in which the client failed to have. It was not our responsibility to have enough blankets because we were only hired to load and unload their *** truck and nothing else. If te customer had to go hire other labor to finish the job then why didn't they just pay the additional stair carry charge and we would have finished the job. Our company is not interested in a nice tip as that would be nice but we want to get paid for the extra charges for the stair carry which we are entitled to.
Thank you and if we can help just write to us at P.O. Box Quakertown, PA. *** is our correct location.

On March 5 and 6 of 2018 *** moved our household from *** to ***. The truck they brought was too small and they needed to tightly pack everything. When unpacking, They dropped a couple of items. One was a dresser where they broke the back piece. They did come the next day and repair the piece. When removing the TV credenza from the truck, it was caught on another item and they jerked it out pulling the end of the credenza away from the frame. They thought they repaired it but when I opened one of the cabinet doors, I saw it was coming apart and was now repairable. One of the movers told me it was just cheap. We paid over $350 for the item. I called *** and Mickey said someone named Kim would contact me. I have emailed several pictures of the damage to Mickey. I have never gotten a call back and have called and left a message on their answering machine 3 more times.
Thank you and Rick S is no longer with the company and we will be happy to answer this complaint. First, the customer rented our men and leased a truck from another company that was used by our rented men to do the service. A claim form was mailed out to the client and the leasing company stated that they are still awaiting it to be returned to them. From there is nothing that can be done until the form is returned to the truck leasing company that the client leased.
Thank you
This company moved our family from *** to *** on March 5,2018. They stored our belongings overnight and delivered them on March 6, 2018 to the *** address. There were several items broken or damaged. A dress had the back broken but they replaced the board. Our TV cabinet was broken and they attempted to fix it. We found our later that the cabinet was about to collapse. We contacted the local company and after several attempts, and weeks later, they sent the claims forms. I completed the forms and sent them along with pictures of the damaged items to the Charleston, WV address. In the email that accompanied the forms, they said to mail regular mail. This threw up a red flag for me believing they would say they never received the forms. The forms were mailed on April 28, 2018. I have heard nothing from the company. I have called and emailed them but no reply. They don't even answer their phone. For the items we claimed, we only asked for $250. We have found additional items that were not included in the initial claimTranslateDesired Resolution / OutcomeDesired Resolution:ReplacementselectDesired Outcome:We asked for $250. The TV cabinet cost us about $500 and was only a couple years old.
I wish to submit a positive review as we hired these guys and our experience with their service was certainly a 5 stars. I was impressed how they navigated my antique furniture up my narrow second floor steps without hitting anything. They packed the truck like real professionals. The price I was quoted was fair and I saw these guys work their butts off and they didn't even take a break because they assured me that they would have the move done before 6 PM the cut off time where any moves can be done in our association complex. I certainly recommend them. Thanks very much eastern connection movers for taking care of our moving needs.
Thank you sir, and thank you for your reviewing of this company and our teams always give our clients the best service possible from the most experienced movers.
Eastern Connection Movers required a deposit. Took the money, provided a contract of service and then never showed up for a 10 a.m. move on Sunday February 25th An excuse that the vehicles battery died was provided to us at 1015 and they couldn’t get there until 12pm. Originally the company contacted me at 8 am saying can we switch the move until 12 due to rain. We could not switch the move to a later time because permits were obtained to block off a part of the street in Philadelphia. No only did the movers not show up but they do not respond to any phone calls at this time. They took our money and our time and are complete frauds.
Thank you and after reviewing this complaint to us here we have to go with what *** decided as there was a clause in the contract as we had a battery exploded then another one behind it. As per the terms and conditions we offered another day to move as that was the best for our rented services or Labor and the truck in which was lease by the client was unable to do the job at that time. We did offer the next day to give time for the Lessor to get a few batteries for truck since it was a Sunday. The rental contract and terms do have terms and conditions in which if in the event something did happen then we are not responsible since it is not our truck but a lease to the client and the leasing company was responsible and no refunds are available. We can continue to look into it but the outcome is for the leasing company and *** people whom denied the claim. We thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
This is a dishonest business. They told us they *** a refund check which was never completed. They never reached out to reschedule a move, they disregarded and dodged our follow up phone calls and voicemails and never apologized for not showing up.
