I went to the echn urgent care in South Windsor thinking that it was the same old walk-in that I had been to many years ago. No one told me it was now urgent care; no one told me the bill would be extremely high, or that fees had changed drastically. I saw no doctor; I got two shots, a flu snap test and was charged $786. I have no issue with the care I received or the medical personnel. I have an issue with this RIDICULOUSLY and unrealistically high bill. I feel like this was a bait and switch.
Pain management is not existing in ECHN, seems like all good drs are leaving Echn.. There are plenty people that need pain management around the area..
Review: Hi! I called 2 times and left a voice message for ECHN [redacted] for someone from billing to call me back at my cell phone. No one has reached out to me. First call - 7/23/2013; Second call 8/1/2013I also emailed them. First email - 8/19/2013;Second email - 9/4/2013Accounts in question: H01910661 (Service date 6/26/2013) ECHN Urgent Care, [redacted](I ENDED UP PAYING THIS ONLINE )My 3 yr old son had a 1 cm laceration on the knee which needed sutures. I took him to ECHN urgent care at [redacted] for the same. The doctor there said that she could have glued it shut as it was a minor cut; but that they were out of glue tape. She then proceeded to try to suture it with the help of the check in lady at urgent care. The topical anesthesia was not given sufficient time to set in before injection of local anesthetic with needle. She was not able to handle it and sent us to ECHN [redacted] hospital with a note that the suture needs to be done "Under SEDATION".[redacted] (Service date 6/26/2013) ECHN Urgent Care, [redacted]In the hospital after 3 hours, a physicians assistant did the sutures for my son with help from 2 nurses restricting my sons movement with a medical cape. There was no sedation needed. My concerns:1) It appears that I am being double billed by ECHN - urgent care and Emergency1072.21 (after insurance adjustment) (emergency ) and 35.51 (after insurance adjustment ) for urgent careMy actual bill should only be 35.51 as I did the right thing by going to urgent care, which is DESIGNED to take care of suturing of minor cuts and gashes.2) I needed to discuss this issue with billing/ dispute specialist as I think it is not fair to charge me for ECHN emergency at all due to - a) Technical efficiency of ECHN staff at urgent care which should be staffed to take care of minor sutures - b) Lack of supplies at ECHN urgent care. (glue tape) which the on call physician said would have fixed the issue, as the laceration wasnt deep.Desired Settlement: I am requesting ECHN to consider voiding the extra billing for 1072.21 made to me because that bill was incurred on account of them being out of stock of supplies needed for common suture for my son. I have already paid the urgent care bill that was made out to me.I have tried to reach ECHN via all the routes listed on their website as well as their bill - phone and email and no one even calls back. The average wait time is 10 minutes, which brings you to VM which is never returned.
