The plug to the oil pan was already stripped when the consumer came in We informed him that we could put in an over sized plug but that oil leaking may occur [redacted] did the previous oil change We advised consumer that if it leaks, we can replace the oil pan We still have the drain plug There is a large burr and stripped threads We did nothing wrong here We were not contacted afterwards by the consumer The consumer just contacted Revdex.com We are sad this happened But we are not the responsible party for what happened We still have the sticker from [redacted] ***

Good Morning: On June 7, 2016, we replaced the front pads and rotors on Mr***'s *** *** pickupThe work was completed without incident and was released in good working orderOn August 15, Mr*** returned to our shop and told us that a caliper bolt had fallen out during a trip
and that he had it replaced at a cost of approximately $I apologized for the inconvenience and asked if we could inspect the brakes and wheel to ensure that nothing further was neededI also offered to have the interior of the wheel refinishedAt this juncture Mr*** launched into a tirade about the incompetence of our shop and refused to allow us to do an inspection. Mr*** also informed me that his attorney had told him just to file a lawsuit and threatened to sit in our lobby and tell all of our customers about our "***" service (his words)Mr*** demanded his money back for the brake service, the purchase of a new wheel, and money for his inconvenience My offer was to reimburse him for the caliper bolt replacement and refinish the interior of the wheelAt this juncture I agreed to look into acquisition of a replacement wheel, but as the wheels are manufactured in China, I made no promises as supplies at best are unpredictableOn October 4th, 2016, a check in the amount of $was issued to Mr*** for the caliper bolt replacement in spite of the fact that we have been prevented from inspecting the brakes to ensure that there are no future issuesIn the intervening time span, I communicated with Mr*** and kept him apprised of our wheel investigationAt each communication and visit to our shop by Mr***, I was subjected to written threats, verbal threats, and disparagement of our shop's competenceWhen Mr*** last visited our shop on February 6th, he was informed that the wheel was no longer being produced and hence was no longer availableI repeated our offer to refinish the interior of the wheel and was told "*** YOU" in front of one of our long time customersOn his way out the door, after refusing our offer to refinish the wheel, he made numerous nasty remarks to our customer regarding our shopHe then sped off in his truck, squeeling his tires while erecting his middle finger at meAfter Mr*** left, our customer, who is in the insurance business, told me to be careful, and cautioned me that this person may come back with a gunThe bottom line is that I have been courteous to Mr***, have paid him more that the cost of replacing the caliper bolt, have spent months searching for a wheel that is no longer available, and have offered more than once to have the wheel refinishedOur initial offer to refinish the wheel still stands, but we will no longer tolerate tirades, nasty commentary, foul language, or threatsMark P*** for Eagle Tire Pros

I am rejecting this response because: none of the caliper bolts were tightened properly and one of the calipers fell off, locking up the brakesMy vehicle would not move and had to be towed to a shopI was out of town at the time so I had the shop tighten the bolts, replacing the one that had completely disappeared, so I could drive homeIf this had happened minutes earlier while I was on the freeway I would have been in an accidentWhen I returned to Boise I did not feel safe taking my vehicle back to Eagle TireI took it to the Ford Dealership and they found that the vibration of the loose calipers had caused several bolts in the front end to loosenThe technician described my vehicle as having "a death wobble"I was charged $at the dealership in addition to what I had to pay the shop in CaliforniaMark P*** told me he would pay the bill and buy me a new wheel at a cost of $My wheels are less than a year old and polishing one that has a deep groove would not repair it and was now out of balanceMr P*** made several promises to me but when I attempted to contact him via email he did not respondI waited months for the wheel and never heard from himWhen I asked for a refund for the faulty brake job that nearly cost me me life he just kept repeating that he would polish the wheelThat is not satisfactory to making me whole again after damaging my vehicleI want my damaged wheel replaced, I want the a refund for the faulty workmanship performed by Eagle Tire and I want the money I paid to the Ford Dealership to repair the damage caused by Eagle Tire's faulty workmanshipI spoke to Big O Tire about this matter and they said their policy in this situation is to refund the customer immediatelyMr P*** said "usually when this happens we just polish the wheel"That is totally ridiculous as it does not address the damage done to my vehicleBrakes are one of the most important parts on a vehicle necessary to keep the occupants safeEagle Tire and Mr P*** are putting lives at risk everyday due to poor and faulty workmanshipHe needs to change his policies and procedures before someone is seriously hurt.
Sincerely,

I pushed back and his response was "we didn't do it". I disagreed, I had no previous leaks or issues with all my previous oil changes. The next morning I went out to check my car to see if it was leaking and sure enough oil was all over the ground, I took my car to Star Auto & Tire and asked them to look over the leak and tell me what they think. The owner of the company, Dan, was convinced that the damage was caused by Eagle Tire Pro. Dan showed me the part they used to do fix the problem they created, they put a new screw in with a rubber air conditioning gasket used as a washer. Dan informed me that using a rubber air conditioning gasket was problematic in that once they tightened the screw back to the oil pan and crunched the screw against the rubber gasket that would create a seem for oil to leak out of. Dan said they should have used an oversized screw into the oil pan and created a new release point to drain the oil within the larger screw, instead their approach was flawed and all the oil leaked out. I was without my car an entire day and was charged $128.44 for parts and labor to fix the problem that was created at Eagle Tire Pro, this included having to pay for all new oil. I have the screw and the rubber air condition gasket they used when they sent me out the door, Dan said they knew the car was going to leak oil when they sent me out the door based on what they used. I don't believe Eagle Tire Pro was honest and ethical in their dealings and want to be reimbursed for the $128.44 problem they caused.
