Review: all the advertisement I read said that filing my federal tax return was free. when I got my refund, etax had taken $97.85 from my tax return. I called them and they said I agreed to this. but the web site never asked me. if I had been asked for any kind of payment, I would have stopped then and there.Desired Settlement: I want etax to refund $97.85 to me.

Review: The online tax filing service promotes, throughout the site and even on the page they display asking for payment information, that the e-file is free. While navigating through the process, the taxes were filed with the IRS before being able to go back to make the correct selection. In the end, they charged an outrageous fee of $85 for a $131 tax return.. A call was placed to the customer service line but they indicated that they could not change the fee and that possibly after the refund is received they can help. Based on complaints reviewed online, I have high doubts that they will follow through on this statement.Desired Settlement: I am happy to pay the $19.95 fee for filing (even tho they indicate free all over the site) which is what I was attempting to do when through navigating the site and trying to get back to the payment page, the tax form was filed.
