We are very dissatisfied with our tile and carpet installation from Dunedin Floors and Granite.
The grout between our floor tiles is permanently stained from basic foot traffic. Repeated cleaning attempts have not made a difference. We were told our grout would be sealed, but obviously it was not.
Regarding the carpeting, our carpeting is bulging and our carpet pad is compressed and offers little padding. We paid for a "premium" carpet pad, and what we got was not good if it is this bad only four years later.
We contacted the company regarding the carpet bulging and grout staining. The manager Joe C. came out on site and said that the bulging of the carpet was due to using a rental carpet cleaner on it. I agree to disagree with him there, and there is no way to tell unless the carpet is removed from the padding.
Joe stated he would check our records regarding the grout sealing, but he did not. When we contacted him multiple times, he ignored us completely without any response. What kind of manager does that?
We paid this company $7,140 for this job only four years ago. Now we will have to pay another company to professionally clean and seal the grout. We are also considering replacing the low quality carpet and padding in our house. How could anyone be satisfied in this situation?
The quality of materials, installation, and service from dealing with this company was very low. Because of this experience, we strongly recommend you look elsewhere for another more reliable and professional company.
Tile installation on approx 1300 sq ft was done incorrectly. We must have the entire area ripped up and re-installed per a certified inspector.
They don't stand behind their work. We must have the entire main area (approx 1300 sq ft) redone only one year later due to the grout crumbling out between tiles, major lippage due to the floors not being prepared properly before tile was laid, and tiles going hollow throughout the installation. The trim work is a mess. No soft joints anywhere in the installation and everything was grouted to the walls and cabinets. We gave them opportunities to address the problems but they kept bringing back the same installers to fix, and weren't doing the right repairs. More lippage. More hollow tiles are appearing even though they assured me this would stop. They don't stand behind their work and will leave you in a lurch without any concern about it whatsoever. Paid to have a third party inspection done which confirmed our concerns - to have a quality floor the whole thing needs to be redone. Was told on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst floor our inspector had seen, he said it was an 11. Asked them for our money back. They said they would bring a crew to come address it however since we lost all of our trust in their answers and their subcontractors (whom they won't prove are licensed or insured), we just wanted our money back so we could start over. They wouldn't respond to us therefore forcing us to go through a formal complaint process. Also, do some research on the reviews you see posted for them. Several of them posted to public sites are people who are related to the owner, are business partners of the owner, or live in another country. Hmmm....
The whole experience with this "business" has been a nightmare.
We would like a full refund on material and installation.
This reply was taken verbally by Revdex.com:
We installed this floor a year ago. Before the year was over the customer complained about hollow tiles so we went back and replaced the hollow tiles. About a month after that the customer called us about grout cracking. We attempted to make an appointment but it they were cancelled twice by the customer and once by us. After that we did not hear back from the customer until we received a letter from their attorney. We hired an inspector to look at the customer's floors and it was found that the grout needed to be replaced. A copy of the inspection report is attached.
