On August 28th I took my second hand [redacted] to have the brakes repaired. I told the mechanic that I had an extended repair warranty, but he had to call the company to get authorization to make the repairs. the next day the mechanic came by my work at 2 pm, but it was my day off. I received a call to ask me to call the garage. I called the garage and they told me that my car was ready and that I owed $370.03 for the repairs. I complained that my brakes were under warranty. Was told that it was a brake pad problem and that this was not covered by warranty. I said that they should never have gone ahead and done repairs - a) without given me a verbal or written estimate of repairs to be performed b) giving me an estimate of the cost as regulated under MA law. I could buy the pads on line, and have my son install at a fraction of the garage cost. Mechanic refused to negotiate with me and refused to retun my car without full payment
