There was no issue and eveiything has been resolved, this is a waste of time. The individual whom filed this complaint was not a registered guest our hotel. Base on our records, a person named [redacted] was registered...
as the guest on 6/23/2016 in room [redacted]
The register guest was informed of our nightly rate of $60 dollars plus 10% tax. The cost of the room total is $66 per night. Our Hotel policy is to retain a $10 deposit for the room key and TV remote, until guest checks out. The guest paid a total of $69 instead of the $66 room cost plus deposit of $10. The person stated they didn't have any more money and asked that we make an exception in lieu of the $10 deposit. As Courtesy, we accepted the $3 difference as a partial deposit. The individual stayed the night and returned the day to check out. The $3 partial deposit was given to the person returning the room key and remote. The individual began to argue that they were more money due back for the deposit. It was explained to him that there was only $ 3 left for the deposit. $69 payment for the room was made and of that $66 was actual cost of the stay with tax. which left a $3 deposit. Which was rightfully returned to the person. The person began to argue about the difference in deposit due, and became threatening to the desk clerk. Our response to the complaint is that it baseless. Our hotel generously waived $7 of the deposit to assist the customer's limited funds situation. We offered to return their $3 deposit them which was rightfully theirs. They refused to take the deposit and demanded more money be given to them. The Complaint is not even a registered guest of our hotel and had no right to make any demands to our staff. The person was rude and belligerent toward the hotel staff.
The Complainant returned to our hotel with a female on 6-23-2016, seeking to stay at the hotel. This time female registered and paid for the room. She paid the usually night rate and deposit. Once she registered, she was accompanied by a man to the room. It was found out that this is the person who previously stay at the property and created trouble regarding the motel deposit. The staff recognized him and asked him to leave. He was given a full refund back and removed from the premises.
The complaint seems to have no problem coming back to our sub standard business, though he seems to have filed a complaint with your agency. This complaint is baseless. we make every attempt to resolve problem matters with our guests, either in the form of refunds or call to the local authorities to have them resolved.
I have provided all facts from our hotel's registration cards as far as payment given to the hotel and payments give to our guests. If there is any further information need please call me at my office.
