Review: I feel that they were very misleading. I called in ahead of time to verify they took my insurance before my son went to thier office. I gave him my credit card which was processed with no concern for the fact that they changed their mind and did not accept my current and valid insurance. If my son went to a provider that took our insurance we would have had a co pay of $10.00. To add insult to injury, the will not provide the measurement from the center of the eye, because we did not purchase eyeware from their office. Really a "comprehensive exam" to the tune of $159.00 doesnt include the eye measurement on the prescription.Desired Settlement: Not only do they not have any sense of customer service, they were completly deceptive in their approach. They wouldnt give me an appointment until I verified my insurance. I want to be sure this doesnt happen to anyone else, and an acknowledgment that they did not handle this issue professionally.

Response:
Dear [redacted],
RE Complaint to the Revdex.com 10: [redacted] -[redacted]
First of all, I would like to apologize to [redacted] and Jordana. We pride ourselves in outstanding
customer service and I can only think that we could have done better in this situation.
Upon investigation of this incident with my staff, it tums out that the patient had insurance
coverage with Blue View Vision as part of Eyemed.
As shown in the coverage sheet, according to Eyemed, the pacient has coverage for
materials, but as of 06129/14. the patient was ineligible for an exam. According to my
scheduler, [redacted], this point was made clear at the time of making the appointment.
It is important for us to let the patient know all the details of their coverage at the time of
making the appointment.
Regarding supplying the patient with pupillary distance, we In fact, have changed our office
policy because of this incident. It is now our policy to supply the patient with that information
at no charge, but we do require a signed waiver from the patient releasing us from any
responsibility for eyeglasses manufactured elsewhere using our prescription.
I am sure that we all can understand why we do that
My philosophy is always that if a misunderstanding or poor communication takes place in our
office, I believe that we should learn from It and attempt to ensure that it never happens
again.
I therefore apologize for this incident and in this matter I am refunding the full amount of $159
paid for the examination.
Sincerely,
