Elite cleaned the unit and checked my vent temps. It was 3 degrees cooler in less than an hour. My thermostat is set at 72, and guess what? It has stayed at 72 since Elite came out. Elite told me my unit was going to seize if it kept running with it being so dirty and asked me why Dr. F never cleaned it. He basically said that HVAC companies do that to an unknowing clients in hopes their units seize, so that they can replace the entire units for profit. For neglect, I would have had an $8,000-10,000 bill to replace the unit (that is five years old) if I didn't call someone else to just CLEAN it. Elite also showed me how to clean it every few months so it wouldn't get so bad. I had a unit that was 32 years old, under a service contract with a company since I bought my house, and they always cleaned it for me. I never watched what they were doing when they came, so I trusted Dr. F to do the right thing as well. Also, I kept calling about a split unit to be installed in my solarium which I love to use as an office. Got a total runaround from Dr F. Wife kept telling me to call some guy they contract with. He never responded to me after my first couple of calls and pictures of what I wanted. My son finally just purchased me one for Mother's day.
I asked over and over why I needed the $850 media unit, and they could never tell me what was installed saying they fired that guy for bad work. Do not trust Dr. Fahrenheit. Go to Elite. Elite is cheaper AND thorough and honest. He told me I should replace the filter at least 2-4 times a year if I have pets and want the unit running well and to keep down the dust. They told me they have taken over many of their accounts due to negligence. I thought these people were my friends. Nope!
failed to place condensation under coil when installing new unit. Water collected in attic until ceiling collapsed. flooring and subfloor had to be replaced. new unit began freezing up, had to pay another HVAC co to install more vents to meet the air requirements. the worst service vendor experience I've ever had
