Dr Cory Torgerson

On April 13th, 2018 I visited Dr ***'s office for a consultation on a variety of cosmetic services. After consideration, I decided to proceed with only the 'under eye filler', one of the many items we had discussed during our initial meeting. I called his office to book an appointment and on that call asked what the price would be for this procedure - I was told $850. Comfortable with the cost, I booked an appointment for 12:30pm on Thursday June 28th, 2018.

On June 28th, my appointment began with Dr *** taking a 'before photo', at which time he explained that he would begin by addressing hollowness in my right cheek then moving to my under eyes - I was not told this was a separate procedure, or that it would hold any additional cost - I understood this conversation as him simply explaining his approach to the procedure. He proceeded with the fillers and I went to the desk to pay for my procedure - my expected cost after 15% tax on $850 being $977.50. I was told my total was $1,864.50. I was shocked and asked why - I was told that the procedure to 'address the hollowness in my right cheek' was actually a separate procedure and therefore nothing could be done about the cost. I explained that there was no transparency and I had no idea there was an additional (extremely large) cost involved and had I known this I would not have proceeded. I was brought back into the room with Dr *** who explained he does not like to review costs with patients because it "can sully the experience". I was not informed, there was no due-diligence done on the part of Dr *** to ensure I both understood and more importantly AGREED to the change in service and cost before he proceeded.
