We were requested by *** and *** to construct a privacy fence for them to keep their child and their dog in the back yard. When they were given a quote they were told that for fence less than 800 feet there was a set price for labor and they agreed to the set price. The quote that was given to them was for the material and we assumed they would factor the labor price in. We still needed to complete the gate for the yard. We explained that you CAN NOT swing the gate up the hill as they originally wanted and that we would be back to fix it. They told us they were going on vacation and once they returned they would contact us. Once they were back we were having to quarantine due to my wife’s mother being a healthcare worker and being exposed to COVID-19. We had to wait the 14 days for the test to comeback. We were then met with the response of well I will fix it my damn self. They then post a nasty review on Facebook stating that they cut 12 inches off of the bottomof the gate so that it would swing up hill. Common sense tells you that if you do this, that your dog and your child will be able to get out. Again, gates are not meant to swing up Hill as was explained to them. If the harassment and slander do not stop immediately, our lawyer will be involved. We are not in high school anymore, and if you have an issue with our work, then be an adult and pick up the phone and call. There is no need for name calling and slander on the internet. It’s easier to lash out at someone from behind a screen, than to own up to the issue and actually have a conversation with them.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewedit isn’t slander when it’s an absolute accurate review of what has taken place. More importantly than anything is the poor quality of the work—what happened to business owners being proud of their work? There was so much more to address than the nit picky issues you took out of my initial message or my Facebook review. We paid a nice amount of money for something we have had to fix and it’s not right. The COVID issue is a legitimate concern and we wouldn’t have wanted you to come to our home but no one attempted to reply to us. I would have understood wholeheartedly working for Va Dept of Health, fully aware of the protocols and recommendations by the CDC! The issue lies in the fact that we are correcting your less than professional work. We chose not to press any legal action after speaking with our lawyer, not because he didn’t see it necessary but because with COVID circumstances along with full time jobs and 3 children, that it simply wasn’t worth it. However, a review is just that—a review and as a consumer I had that right—there was absolutely no cussing on those posts but there was a lot of proof that you guys are sketchy and we got taken advantage of. Just do better for the next customer!
