Stole 1,600
Josh Armstrong was paid 1,600 to install a fence. Not only did he not install the fence, he never returned my money. He STOLE 1,600 from me. Numerous messages, and phones made asking for my money to be returned. Court date is April 6th. Don't ever get involved with this man. He is a thief, and a liar. Who does that someone? You are portraying to run a business, and you STEAL from people! ohhh and before you try to correct me on how nasty of a person you are...I have the receipt and every single message, not to mention 2 other witnesses. Both my children were there when you came to STEAL my money.

A quote for a fence
I had Double A Fencing come out one to provide me a quote for a fence. I was undecided at the time so we discussed options and decided on a square post 4 board fence with wire on the inside to keep the dog in as well as my toddler from climbing. The quote he gave me was $3143.00 for this fence that also included a 12 foot gate. When they delivered supplies they delivered round posts and a 12 foot cattle gate. I questioned the cattle gate and he stated that he agreed that a wooden gate would look better. I also questioned the posts because this gave it more of a cattle gate feel than a residential feel to me. He then said the square posts cost more so the quote would go up. Later on I questioned him about the price and he stated that the estimate did not include the $1500 labor. At this time, we decided since there wasn't that much of a price difference, we would go with a privacy fence. They put it up in no time but used drywall screws for about 98% of the fence--we have pictures to verify this. When questioned he said there was no way because he purchased the screws. Regardless there were drywall screws all over the fence. The gate wasn't functional on the last day they were at our home and they stated they would return which never happened. My spouse which is super trusting wrote them a final check for labor assuming they would return the next morning--obviously at this point we weren't aware of the screws were interior screws. After attempting contact for 5 days without a response we threatened with legal action and they replied that they had been quarantined--considering the circumstances, I understand but a response would have been appropriate prior to the legal threat. With this being said, we should not have paid over $5000 for this fence just to have to go back and immediately repair it. Also, the quote for this specific fence went over by $376 due to extra concrete but when examined by a contractor, he said mortar was mixed in with the concrete used for the posts.

We were requested by *** and *** to construct a privacy fence for them to keep their child and their dog in the back yard. When they were given a quote they were told that for fence less than 800 feet there was a set price for labor and they agreed to the set price. The quote that was given to them was for the material and we assumed they would factor the labor price in. We still needed to complete the gate for the yard. We explained that you CAN NOT swing the gate up the hill as they originally wanted and that we would be back to fix it. They told us they were going on vacation and once they returned they would contact us. Once they were back we were having to quarantine due to my wife’s mother being a healthcare worker and being exposed to COVID-19. We had to wait the 14 days for the test to comeback. We were then met with the response of well I will fix it my damn self. They then post a nasty review on Facebook stating that they cut 12 inches off of the bottomof the gate so that it would swing up hill. Common sense tells you that if you do this, that your dog and your child will be able to get out. Again, gates are not meant to swing up Hill as was explained to them. If the harassment and slander do not stop immediately, our lawyer will be involved. We are not in high school anymore, and if you have an issue with our work, then be an adult and pick up the phone and call. There is no need for name calling and slander on the internet. It’s easier to lash out at someone from behind a screen, than to own up to the issue and actually have a conversation with them.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewedit isn’t slander when it’s an absolute accurate review of what has taken place. More importantly than anything is the poor quality of the work—what happened to business owners being proud of their work? There was so much more to address than the nit picky issues you took out of my initial message or my Facebook review. We paid a nice amount of money for something we have had to fix and it’s not right. The COVID issue is a legitimate concern and we wouldn’t have wanted you to come to our home but no one attempted to reply to us. I would have understood wholeheartedly working for Va Dept of Health, fully aware of the protocols and recommendations by the CDC! The issue lies in the fact that we are correcting your less than professional work. We chose not to press any legal action after speaking with our lawyer, not because he didn’t see it necessary but because with COVID circumstances along with full time jobs and 3 children, that it simply wasn’t worth it. However, a review is just that—a review and as a consumer I had that right—there was absolutely no cussing on those posts but there was a lot of proof that you guys are sketchy and we got taken advantage of. Just do better for the next customer!

Regards
