There seems to be some confusion about your request and our ability to provide you what you want.We are a public facility and managed by the [redacted] ***We are unable to allow a private party to "host an event" at this facility during daytime hours when we are open to the general publicSo staging what really is a private event by you, is not permissible. The many daytime Domes events you referenced are all created and managed by the in-house Conservatory staff or on occasion, the Friends of the Domes that stage fund-raising efforts for the facility. After hour rentals are an option and are managed through ***, our exclusive catering companyHowever, there is also a Building Policy that does not allow a rental party to use a County building to raise or collect money or fees from others, such as the fee you would likely charge the photographers that would be solicited to participate in your eventAlso the policy does not allow facilities to be rented for events that would be open to the "public at large"Private rentals are strictly that, private.I believe that Lisa did try and understand your request within the parameters of what information you sharedThe Photography Permits she sent you, were an attempt to show you the procedures we have in place for photographers wanting to take and use photos of this facility for their own benefitThe County has those permits in place because many photographers will use their photos to sell outright or promote themselves and their businessesIt's standard policy in many facilities. The references she may have made to the "lighting" and "temperature" challenges here at the Domes are real ones and are shared with anyone interested in booking either a rental or a Photography Permit during the summer monthsThey were not meant to discourage you.I am sorry that we cannot give you what you want based on the information you've shared.I hope this has clarified and answered some of your concerns

the general public. So staging what really is a private event by you, is not permissible. The many daytime Domes events you referenced are all created and managed by the in-house Conservatory staff or on occasion, the Friends of the Domes that stage fund-raising efforts for the facility. After hour rentals are an option and are managed through [redacted], our exclusive catering company. However, there is also a Building Policy that does not allow a rental party to use a County building to raise or collect money or fees from others, such as the fee you would likely charge the photographers that would be solicited to participate in your event. Also the policy does not allow facilities to be rented for events that would be open to the "public at large". Private rentals are strictly that, private.I believe that Lisa did try and understand your request within the parameters of what information you shared. The Photography Permits she sent you, were an attempt to show you the procedures we have in place for photographers wanting to take and use photos of this facility for their own benefit. The County has those permits in place because many photographers will use their photos to sell outright or promote themselves and their businesses. It's standard policy in many facilities. The references she may have made to the "lighting" and "temperature" challenges here at the Domes are real ones and are shared with anyone interested in booking either a rental or a Photography Permit during the summer months. They were not meant to discourage you.I am sorry that we cannot give you what you want based on the information you've shared.I hope this has clarified and answered some of your concerns.
