Dog Town By Dog Taxi Reviews (%countItem)

On November 14th my partner had bought a package of ten day-care days and three "dog taxis" (where the business picks up and drops off our dog from our residence) and gave instructions to drop the dog off that day, and do a pick-up and drop off the following day. We actually only needed 2 days and three taxis, so I called and spoke with the owner of the business. We have been taking our dog there for over a year, so she was kind enough to give a refund for eight of the days, which meant we paid for two days (November 14th and 15th) and three "dog taxis." At that time I reiterated that our dog was to be picked up and dropped off on November 15th.

On November 15th, 2019, Dog Taxi did not pick up our dog, ***, for daycare. As a result, she sat at home, unattended, for 13 hours. *** When I came home from work, instead of greeting me, she immediately ran outside to go to the bathroom and was in a heightened excited state the entire evening. We confirmed that she was not picked up after calling them the following Monday.

***. After confirming that they neglected to pick her up the person working the phone has continually 'taking a message' and promising the owner would call us soon.

She has not called back.

IF ONLY I COULD GO BACK IN TIME!!! BUT...I CANNOT!
I CAN HOWEVER, WARN OTHERS....... TO ***NOT*** MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I MADE WHEN I LEFT (MY DOG “***”) FOR AN 11 NIGHT STAY AT THE “DOG TAXI HOTEL” SEPT 2019.
Below is a copy of the email I sent to their company...and I never did receive a response back:
To the Owners and Staff at The Dog Taxi Daycare/Hotel,
(I ask that ALL STAFF and OWNERS at Dog Taxi be made aware of this email)
With Monumental Disappointment and Great Sadness, I feel I must inform ALL of You how Very Shocked I was to realize how poor of condition “***” was in upon arriving home from picking her up from your facility on Oct 3rd, 2019 after an 11 night stay at The Dog Taxi Hotel.
I placed my Trust and Faith in your Staff and Facility to ensure ***” needs were met while I was away, and they were not.
This became apparent to me during our walk home after picking her up.
I first noticed that “***” had lost A LOT of weight, as it turns out she had lost 8 pounds in 11 nights since her stay at The Dog Taxi Hotel. This is a DRAMATIC and UNHEALTHY amount of weight to lose in such a Short period of time. “***” spine and hip bones were so Grossly visible and her waist had shrunken right in. (I had left written and verbal instructions for feeding “***” with staff member Luanne upon dropping her off for her 11 night stay). I expressed my concerns regarding feeding her and even made up 21 individual pre-cooked portions of frozen ground beef to be mixed into her dry food to ensure she would eat well. I Also asked that it be made known to me if there were any concerns regarding “***” during her 11 night stay. I was assured by Luanne that ALL would be well taken care of* ....(BUT...IT WASN’T).
***I left just enough food for “***” to feed her 1 portion of ground beef with each 1 &1/2 cups of dry food twice a day***
***(UPON PICKING HER UP I WAS GIVEN BACK 1 portion of ground beef and almost 1 entire bag of her dry dog food)***
***There should have been NO food left over, as I brought only ENOUGH food for the 11 night stay.***
Part way through “***” stay I placed a call to The Dog Taxi Hotel to see if “***” was eating well, I spoke with Jorge...He asked a fellow employee and informed me that “***” was eating well. (BUT THIS COULD NOT BE TRUE).
Upon getting her home it also became apparent to me that during her stay at Dog Taxi Hotel she had contracted a SEVERE Bacterial Infection of her Nasal Passageways. This Bacterial Infection was so severe that she was unable to breathe Out of her nose AT ALL for the next 10 days; (She had no choice but to Open Mouth Breathe for the entire time, which is SO STRESSFUL and Hard on the body).
Those 10 days were the WORST days of “***” life AND Mine as well.
She constantly produced a thick green nasal discharge which she sneezed all over my home, herself, her bedding, everything, requiring me to manually evacuate her nasal passageways as she was choking constantly on this discharge that was backing up into her throat and blocking her nose. I was at her bedside for 10 days constantly nursing her, her weight and ensuring that she did not choke to death on her discharge. Neither of us had more than 5 minutes sleep at a time for the entire 10 days. ***. I am Absolutely MYTHED as to how her care could go so wrong in such a short period of time???
***and as of yet, I continue to nurse her; as it will take longer than 10 days to put the 8 pounds of weight back onto her frame in a safe manner and repair the damage done to her immune system. ***.THAT’S How Sick She was in the first 10 days after picking her up from her stay at The Dog Taxi Hotel.
I feel that your services provided to help and assist “***” to become integrated with other dogs and people down at The Dog Taxi “Day Care” were met.
I DO NOT FEEL that your services provided to care for “***” most BASIC needs while boarding with The Dog Taxi “Hotel” were met.
It was a Great Expense for me to have “***” boarded for 11 nights while I visited my family. ***. However, I felt that spending the $600 to have “***” needs WELL taken care of while I was away was worth it, BELIEVING that she WOULD be in good hands...(BUT, THIS WASN’T THE CASE).
My Question to the Owners of Dog Taxi Hotel....
How was this *** ALLOWED to take place, such a GROSS Lack of care for “***” most Basic needs??? ***.
I would Appreciate very much Positive return Communication from The Owners of Dog Taxi Hotel and Daycare regarding this *** and your response as to what you are Willing to do to make up for this *** on the part of Dog Taxi Hotel for NOT meeting the most BASIC of requirements for “***” needs during her 11 night stay.
For the Record...when I dropped “***” off to stay, She was in Perfect Health and She has never had ANY Health Issues as such in the entire time I have had her in our 4 & 1/2 years together.
I await your communication

When reviews say DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG at this day care. BELIEVE EVERY WORD!
From the very start I was wary of this place. However my better half already paid for training up front. The first time I took a visit of the facility ... it stunk of strong urine, It hurt my nose ***. I was greeted by a nice Spanish woman and a nice dog handler with black glasses, very friendly...
Our dog went in training to be socialized with other dogs because we were concerned about his dog aggression. John the owner /dog handler/" dog psychologist" was the person our dog dealt with. He would send videos of our dog showing his progress within the facility with him and other dogs. In one the video my dog and probably other dogs urinating and defecating inside the building.
Progress had been made with our dog in some of the video's he would share with us. However walking him on our own we still had the same problem of gaining his attention off of other dogs and being aggressive. HE HAS NEVER BIT A DOG OR HUMAN IN OUR SUPERVISON.

FASTFOWARD TO A ***

This companies owner, co owner, dog handler... what ever he wants to call himself... Greets me with " YOUR THE PROBLEM" "YOUR THE PROBLEM OF WHY YOUR DOG IS AGGRESSIVE " HE THEN STARTS RAISING HIS VOICE and yelling at me as if I am a 10 year old delinquent and not a paying client who had spend well over 2000.00. Then says " I AM GOING TO CALL THE SPCA ON YOUR DOG. I HAVE VIDEOS OF YOUR DOG BEING AGGRESSIVE. I AM GOING TO CALL THEM. He and I then have some words. I Express the fact that I would like to see him walk the dog around the neighbourhood so he can see first hand our dogs behaviour when he is walking pass dogs he does not know. I end up walking out side and JOHN CONTINUES TO YELL " YOUR BAND FROM HERE YOUR BAND FROM HERE, DONT COME BACK YOUR BAND FROM HERE.

Then talks some nonsense about how I need to be broken as the owner.. and I replied I am not a horse I do not need to be broken.

John's wife.. . and another employee came out to calm the situation of the owner yelling at a client in the street.

They calmed the situation and try to explain John's lack of communication , horrible people skills, company skills. Honestly this guy needs to stay in the back and never come out to talk to clients .
*** .

PLEASE DONT YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.

The staff are fantastic - they care about the individual development and care of your dog, and provide you with feedback about how they are doing , and ways you can improve your 'at-home' training. They monitor the dogs and make sure that they are socially interacting and that they are comfortable with each other.

When we were away on holidays our dog was boarded there and given all the food and vitamins that we had left with them. She also came back to us fully washed. I'm not sure who had a better vacation, us or her!

As a complete side note, I was there the morning of the recent fire next to Dog Taxi Hotel as well as checking in with the staff during the days following. The staff truly care for the welfare and care of your dogs, they were so concerned and the level of attention given to the animals was unparalleled and reaffirmed that we made the right decision sending our dog *** there.

I've never used a service like this before so I was unsure of what to expect and I've been overwhelmingly happy with how much my lab enjoys going there. She gets excited when we get near the building. Thanks to Angela, John and Jorge (and the rest of your great team) for all you do.
