DJ's Heating and Air Conditioning

Both of my sales people disagree with this customers version of what happened. They state that they never told him that the unit wouldn't add moisture to the air, after all it is called a 'swamp' cooler. nothing more than a very large fan, and by adding water the unit would actually 'cool' a bit by adding moisture to the air. When I spoke with him on Monday, he stated he had a wood shop and didn't want any more humidity. I asked him if he knew how a 'swamp' cooler worked and he said of course, and that he had read the book. I then asked him why he would add water knowing it would put moisture in the air. He got defensive and blamed it on the sales people. I asked both of the sales people individually, what was said (they were not working in the same building on Monday, thus could not compare stories) and both said at no time did they tell him that it wouldn't add moisture to the air if he added water. It should also be noted that one of the salesmen called the owner on Saturday (I was present during the call) and he was told to make sure the customer knew this was NOT an air conditioner and would add moisture to the air if he added water. Without the water it was nothing more than a fan. The customer was NOT mislead. He signed the sales slip stating that there is a 25% restocking charge on all returned items. He didn't just take the product home, he used it. I cannot sell it as new, and will have to discount the price. Thus he was charged the restocking fee.
