They sold my item on Sept 20th and I never received my money. Called 4 times and the last time I called on November 7th they said they will send my check I also sent emails and no reply as of 12/11/2018 no check.
Yes Mr. cabinet was sold on the 9/20/18 sale. We moved our location in August over from *** to our current address at *** in *** along with the move of consignment we also moved our computer systems. We experienced many issues with our operating systems and the various systems that interface with them at the new address. It took us until October to complete the rebuilding of the database in order to close out auctions. After which we printed out several months of invoices and supporting documentation to close out our auctions So our paperwork was behind. I explained this to Mr. so he would understand. He said that was our issue not his as a customer. I understand his frustration in getting his check but that was the reason. His check has been written and I called him this afternoon after receiving it and let him know I had it and it was being sent via mail tomorrow 12/12/18.
I have asked this employees of this company, Bruce, Billy and a woman who answered the phone to please call me with an update on my account and to provide me with a copy of our contract. Each of the 5 phone calls were responded with "give me your name and number and I will have Billy call you", or Bruce said he would" find my information and return my call". I have been trying to reach them since August. Our contract started in May. I have received 2 reimbursement checks from them as of this writing. I am trying to receive an update to my account to be aware of what items of mine they have sold and paid me for, what items have sold and I have not been paid for and what items have not yet been sold.
We received *** consignment on 4/3/18 and her items went up for auction on 6/21/18 and a check was written for her on 6/27/18 and was mailed the same date. We mailed it to the address we had for ***. Mr. D has rerun the consignment settlement sheets and rewritten her a new check, put a stop on the first check along with a copy of the contract. He has mailed it out to the address in *** and spoke with *** on the phone to provide her with a update. All action has been taken.
On February 26 DixoN’s Auction came to my property and removed approximated $*,*** worth of furniture, art, rugs, small appliances and garden tools and several boxes of household items. The items were to be sold at auction. I have repeatedly called and emailed Dixon’s to find out the status of my payment since it I had been 9 months from the pick up. I have been told various stories about my proceeds and have not received payment. I don’t know if at this point the complaint is regarding an out and out theft or a delayed payment. They refuse to interact with me. Since I have moved out of state I can’t go and get my items back.
I have been in touch with Ms. and asked her to resend us a copy of her contract, which she did. We moved our offices from *** to ***, . and during this move we were not able to find her copy. Billy D is pulling the auction history for the last 9 months and is researching her items. When we also moved our offices we moved our operating systems and had major problems that some are still being worked out. Billy is expecting to conclude his findings in the next couple of weeks.
My name is *** and I am a 5 time Army war veteran. I served in *** and *** and I really need some help. Dixon's Auction Company in *** has been ripping people off for some time. I had them pick up some items from my home back in January to sell for me. To this date I have not received a single check and they just keep telling me that they are still trying to sell some of my small items. I have been told this every time I call and every month they say my items will be in the next auction. It does not take 6 months to sell items in online auctions. I think the real truth is they have lost my items and they are trying to short change me. They are the most unprofessional and unresponsive company I have dealt with. Is there anything you can do to help. I was told that the owner was taking care of my issues and he never does. The latest story was they moved my items to a new location and it will be in the next months auction. I told them I want a check of the items that were sold, a refund on any pickup fees, no percentage charged on what was sold, and I want my remaining items back.
Mr *** from all of us at Dixon's Auctions we Thank You for your service and we support our Troops. We picked up items from Mr. on January 8th, 2018 and sold items at Auction on Feb. 5th, 2018 and again on June 5th, 20189. This was not all of Mr. consignment as some were not put up for sale and some passed as a no sale in the auction to be auctioned again. It is not our policy to write a check for a partial payment until all items are sold. I will send over for payment what items on Mr. contract that have sold to date and have a check written for him. We currently have our two auction floors her in Powhatan and have been working constantly putting auction through. Due to a huge backlog of small items (boxes of china, glassware, ceramics etc) it takes a long time to move all these items through the auction process. We have listened to our customers and Mr. complaint about how long it takes to sell everything and not being able to stick to a sell date that we have taken a lease on a new 24,000 ' building that will give us 14 separate auction bays and a dedicated space just for small item sales. We are looking forward to this move which is schedule for a grand opening 8/1/18. With the 14 auction bays when consignments like Mr. come into us we can assign that contract to a specific auction bay with a scheduled auction date. So the communication with the customer on a completion date is scheduled upfront.
I have confirmed that Mr *** furniture items not sold and Christmas items have been placed and cataloged for the auction ending Friday 8/3/18 and his remaining small box lots have been unpacked and are at our new location at *** and will be in a auction scheduled for Tues 8/7/18. Once these auctions have closed we will send Mr. a check for his consignment. Mr. and myself have spoken on 7/24 and today 7/25 and he has been informed as to the status and dates and has agreed for us to continue and sell them at auction. Mr. Dixon when speaking with Mr. earlier agreed to waive the Pickup fee of $*** and to reduce the commission rate from % our standard rate to % a discounted rate, due to the extended time it has taken to get his items sold, and we sincerely apologize for any trouble this has caused. We feel that going forward the steps we have put in place this type of issue should not happen in the future.
I will communicate with Mr. on the completion of his sale.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have been promised every month that my items were in the next sale then I call and it's promised it's in the next sale. Then I call and my items were moved to a new location and they will be in the next sale. I will not accept or close my complaint until my items are all sold and I have received a check.

IN AUGUST OF 2017 I GAVE TO DIXON'S AUCTION A 8' TALL STAINLESS STEEL ANGEL THAT I BOUGHT FROM THE FEDERAL RESERVE BUILDING APROX 25 YEARS AGO. I HAD TO GO INTO A RETIREMENT CENTER AND WAS UNABLE TO TAKE IT WITH ME. I FREQUENTLY CALLED DIXONS TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH MY ANGEL SOLD FOR. FOR 7 MONTHS THEY COULD NOT TELL ME. ONCE THEY SAID THEY MAY HAVE LOST THE ANGEL OR IT COULD HAVE BE STOLEN IF IT WAS PUT OUTSIDE. SEVERAL TIMES THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND CALL ME. THEY NEVER CALLED ME ONCE. I CONTINUED TO CONTACT THEM AT LEAST 15 TIMES OVER THE SEVEN MONTH PERIOD. I HAVE A PICTURE OF ME STANDING BY THE ANGEL IN ***. THE LAST TIME I CALLED--LIKE I SAID EARLIER 7 MONTHS AFTER THEY HAD MY ANGEL--I TOLD THE GENTLEMAN ON THE PHONE THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. I'VE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE ABOUT WHAT I SHOULD DO. WELL THE LAST TIME I CALLED THEM AND TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO CONTACT Revdex.com HE TOLD ME TO HOLD ON ONE MINUTE AND CAME BACK ON THE PHONE AND SAID IT SOLD FOR $.. ODDLY AN AMOUNT WAS GIVEN IMMEDIATELY. I WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE Revdex.com AUCTIONEERS BOARD IN . DIXON'S SAID THEY HAD NO REGISTER OF ANYTHING CONCERNING THE ANGEL. THEY DON'T KNOW WHO BOUGHT IT ETC.
Case #*** We received the 8' stainless steel Angel from Mrs. the end of April with a consignment from her son and was assigned contract #***. The angle was put up for sale along with the items from that consignment and was passed no sale. We attempted to put the angel back through another sale and again was passed. During its time outside the sticker that is used to match items to their consignors faded and was not readable and when put back again was coded into a *** code used for situations such as this so unidentified items are kept together to be matched with consignors. I spoke with Mrs. and told her that was more than likely what happened and we would have to research each auction to find it. I also let her know that I remembered seeing the angel and liked it and wished I could have used it. It did take time to locate the angel after researching through past sales. The angel sold on 7/7/17 for $.*** and was described as a metal angel from the Downtown Christmas Display, 44"X97". I understand that Mrs. had the angel appraised for $***.. We did not have any appraisal information to reference. This also would not have been the type of item we would have put a reserve on. We do take reserves on cars, trucks, estate jewelry items such as that but not Christmas items. We put items up for sale with a description along with pictures and then advertise them locally, across the US and abroad. The public decides on what they are willing to pay for a item. When Mrs. called I found that the angel had been sold for $.*** minus commission of $.*** with a net to customer for $.. After putting her on hold and speaking with Mr. Dixon we decided not to charge any commission and pay for the $.. We understand that appraisal gave it a estimate of $***.*** but the public sale at auction brought $.. We are prepared to give Mrs. an additional $***.*** for a payment of $***.*** to meet this half way. Just to restate that the Public when bidding doesn't consider what someone may have bought a item for but what they are willing to pay for it. The identification of a buyer is confidential and is protected, not ailable to the public. Mrs. has always been enjoyable to speak with and we are glad to be able to resolve this issue.
I JUST RECEIVED THE RESPONSE TODAY FROM DIXON'S AUCTION IN MY SPAM MAIL. I WILL ACCEPT THE $***.*** THAT THEY OFFERED FOR THE ANGEL.
THANK-YOU--
Be very careful bidding at this unethical auction house. They use shill bidders and they look at your maximum bids so they can run up the prices and gouge you out of your money as much as possible. This is very unethical and shows what this auction is really like. This is illegal in Virginia and almost everywhere else too but it is allowed if they put a statement in the fine print. Look hard for these statements. They allow this place to cheat you. Or better off just avoid this business.

Dixon's Auctions held a business auction for me in March of 2017 (Salon III And Spa). At the completion of the auction they left with 2 valuable chandeliers that Mr. Ed *** said he would place in another auction for sale, and once they sold he would send me a check. I have inquired on multiple occasions with Dixon's via phone, Internet, and mail. I did speak with Billy D on the phone, and was told that the items did in fact sell, and a check would be put in the mail to me the next day. I still have not received payment after all this time. I would like to have the money that is due me.
CHECK WAS WRITTEN ON 5-9-17 #*** and mailed .was never cashed new check written today and mail to new address.#***Ed D
