I added a *** security screen to my home by Discount Windows and Doors and the quality is as promised! It is a very thick door which provides security to my home, people are not able to break it and thats exactly the quality I was looking for! I highly recommend them, great quality products!
I received a quote for custom windows for my entire house in Sept 2019. After paying full balance, I received my windows Dec 23, 2019. One window frame was damaged on delivery (not packaged securely). So frame was reordered and replaced one month later. In meantime, rest of house windows were installed but installers did messy job. Installer’s team installed the windows Jan 16, 2020. Some screens broken, missing, loose, also noted scuffed handles. Salesman didn’t care to help me. Operations manager was nice and responsive but not as organized as I hoped. Doesn’t seem as though sales, installation and warranty departments communicate well with each other. I was proactive in calling them. Someone from the warranty dept came to my home Mar 12, 2020 to look at the damages and missing window screens. He also noted that there were gaps between the screens and window frames from poor installation. He took pictures of the damages and claims this is an installation issue and jokingly said that I “shouldn’t have gotten my windows from them (discount windows).” The manager from warranty department also emailed saying that Discount Windows and Doors does not do installation or installation repair and that is my installers responsibility. Which doesn’t make sense to me because what is the point of a warranty department if they don’t address faulty products or faulty service delivery? It is April 15, 2020 and I am still waiting for my missing screen for my window and as far as fixing any damages caused by my installers I am pretty much screwed. The installers were contracted by Discount Windows and Doors but the paperwork I signed didn’t indicate any disclosure statements or liability waivers. I understand that the Covid crisis may delay the completion of my project but I already feel compelled to pursue a formal complaint against this company because of poor customer service, poor service delivery, and poor craftsmanship, considering that my window project cost me over $15000.

I was able to buy a very beautiful front door for my home at Discount Windows and Doors! They not only had a great variety to choose from, but all for great pricing! Adding a front door to my home from the craftsman collection was the best detail to make my homes appearance the best! Great customer service as well, and the quality of my door is well worth the price!

Received amazing pricing with Discount Windows and Doors! I was in need of new windows throughout my home and decided to go with the *** impact windows. These windows are great quality, they are resistant against hurricanes, and offer heat and noise reduction as well! They have not only added a great appearance to my home but have saved me light energy as well! Customer service was wonderful, very helpful, and worked with me in order to stay under budget. Highly recommend this company if you are looking to replace your windows you won't regret it!
Company is slow to respond to queries. Company will take 100% of your money upfront, force you to accept their installation contractor, and require you to read the contract fine print to get any warranty where defects must be identified within 72 hours of receipt. The company did not perform any inventory reconciliation when product was delivered. How is a lay person supposed to understand the jargon on the invoice without help. They did not provide an inventory hardcopy, nor require a signature receipt for material delivered. It is noted that the material delivered was missing screen, had numerous scratches and dents, and did not match the order configuration that was discussed with their installer, who must validate all measurements and requirements prior to finalizing the order. Moreover, the installer did not perform an inventory to validate the condition of product or if all requirements were delivered. Only after installation can the customer identify discrepancies; however, by then it is too late.
Discount Windows and Doors have supplied over 80,000 windows to over 14,000 clients over a 12 year period. It is rare, but on occasion material gets damaged. I question some of your comments, your wife refused to sign the delivery note when the windows were delivered, for whatever reason we do not know. You are quite correct some screens and one glass unit was broken, all of which are being replaced as was clearly pointed out to you. You have the option of paying 100% or 50% deposit however 100% must be paid for the windows prior to delivery, the same as any other company in this business. Every customer always has the option of using their own installer as is very clearly depicted on the order confirmation you signed upon ordering the windows. It appears to me your are doing everything you can to avoid paying what is due, in spite of the fact we promptly attended to the issues.
We were notified of damage by the installers in addition to feedback you provided. The installers are not responsible for damage to the order and as such you are obligated to pay them promptly, I understand you are refusing to pay, even though the job is completed, so a county court claim will be made against you if payment is not made to the installers by Friday 2/28, this will also affect your credit.

DWD is totally flawed from leadership down. The delivery personnel "REFUSED" to allow my spouse, receiving person, to accept the delivery. Due to fact that damages would be identified and stating that "I am protecting you." Now DWD has identified that they are taking me to court for stating that I am holding 10% of contract fee as identified in contract. DWD is slow to respond and are totally bullying clients to look like they are in the right. Moreover, final install was done on Wed, 2/19 and 2 page discrepancy list was generated. Call DWD (2/24) to identify if they received the list. No they have not. Moreover, installers also did not want signature on discrepancy list due to fact that there are numerous discrepancies and windows must be changed out due to wrong install. Let's go to court.

The complaint is about this company's billing practices for a service visit. We have had this company sell us over $15,000 worth of replacement windows over the past five years, but one has given us continued problems. Under warranty, it was fixed several times, but we only recently had the same problem and they charged us $150 for a service visit. I not only thought this was excessive but have problems with their requirement that we pay it ahead of time. When I asked them why we had to pay so much for what past experience told me would be a 15 minute repair, I was told that the billing covers their expectation that the repair person would need to spend as much as 3 hours. I do not mind paying $50 an hour or fraction when it takes only 15 minutes, but I do not think they should charge their customers an exorbitant fee for that service which required only one part and a screwdriver to fix.

The manufactures we represent like many other companies in this industry have a warranty that covers materials and labor for a specified period of time. After which it is necessary for us to cover our cost on the repair or replacement of non-warranty items, based on a fixed minimum and then an hourly rate thereafter. As you may not have been aware of this procedure, we will gladly refund you the labor cost paid to repair your window for this instance.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It will be sufficient to be refunded two thirds of what we paid ($100), not the full $150. I think that is fair given the amount of parts and labor involved.
Pretty good service. I love my kitchen window. My son was able to install the window with no problem. My only objection is the delivery time. I believe it took over three months!.
I felt like Discount Windows did a very good job. I am satisfied with their workmanship and with the product. The workmen were nice and helpful. Everything went well. Thank you. Would I use them again? Yes.

Working with Discount Windows was a pleasure. Their showroom in Kaneohe displayed the quality and design characteristics of the sliding doors/windows and jalousies that I most desired. I had visited several competitor dealers on the island and found the design and quality of their sliding doors/windows and jalousie windows lacking in functional quality, esthetics and ease of operation. Sales Rep Mr. Kaimana K was exceptional in explaining the advantages of each product, always with a smile and with the customer's interest always in mind. Dealing with Kaimana's positive salesmanship convinced me I was dealing with the right company.
Discount Windows installation team lead by Mr. Anthony F did a fantastic job in removing the old windows and doors and replacing them with quality sliding doors and jalousie windows ……..all in a single day. His installation team were professional and efficient in getting the installation completed on time.
Both the sales and installations kept with the agreed estimates. I would recommend Discount Windows for future installation in the future.

Received DEFECTIVE window. Window slides down upon opening.
Repair person came twice to fix/repair window - Still have problem.
Owner gave the excuse that it is the spring and cannot be fixed.
Windows cost $16,994.63 PLUS installation $10,000.00.
The window *** is referring to is a double hung window. Double Hungs have two vertically sliding vents. The sliding vent is very heavy so to offset the weight of glass, stainless steel spring balances are used to counteract the weight of glass, in the case of the window she refers to a number 10 spring was used. *** was unhappy that, once the vent is unlocked it moves down 1/4", which is perfectly normal for this style of window. She was unhappy so we installed the next size spring which caused the lower vent to lift up as it was too strong. These springs are not adjustable so we installed the manufacturers recommended spring which is precisely what the window is supplied with. I have attached a video showing the perfectly normal operation of this window, there is nothing wrong with it. It is very normal for single hung and double hung windows to stop where this one does, that is the whole point of the lock, to secure the window closed. The purpose of the spring is to make the sliding operation easier by offsetting the weight of the glass, it is not designed to fully close and lock the window.
As there is nothing wrong with this window, there is nothing further that can be done.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not agree - because the window is "DEFECTIVE" , window is not suppose to slide down when it is unlocked ! Plus , it is putting a strain on the locks - hanging on the locks when in the locked position. Also , I need to hold the window up in the closed positon in order to engage the locks - " UNSAT !"
Very easy to do business with. They listen to what I wanted in updating my old bedroom windows from louvers to sliding windows and adding a security picture window for outside viewing. The sales rep was easy to talk to and communicate with. The specially ordered windows did take a couple of months from purchase time to installation, but if you're not in a rush, you should be okay. When the windows came in from the mainland, the installers were very efficient from contacting us about the delivery and the installation of the windows. The workers worked very fast and did a very neat job, even the clean up.
We are very pleased with our windows and the follow through service. We would definitely recommend Discount Windows & Doors to others.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience! The salesperson was very accommodating and the installer was very thorough in making sure we were satisfied with what we were getting. The indoor shutters were all custom made within weeks and installed in one afternoon. I would definitely recommend this company!
I think the quality and installation are great. They were able to help me by providing custom-sized windows to replace the older windows in my home. The showroom is quite nice, much better than that of some of the competition I visited. The salesperson was patient in helping me determine the many options for replacing jalousies (sliding, casement, awning, new jalousies.) I was happy that I could get bronze exteriors to match my existing windows. I also like the idea of the self-cleaning exterior although I haven't tried the rinse/wash yet to see how well it works. Replacing the older jalousie windows was a huge improvement by providing an unobstructed view and cutting down on dust in the house. The installers were on time, professional, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves.The timeline for new bronze windows is about 14 weeks. I verified their license with the state contractor's board first as always.
The one thing I noticed that I wish I had was automatic locking when the window is closed (a friend has this in their new windows purchased from Home Depot I believe.) However, Home Depot is incredibly difficult to work with if you need custom windows, salespersons change often and are not as knowledgeable.)
This is the second time I purchase things from Discount Windows & Doors. They have great people working for them. From the sale person to the installation person.
