Our experience mirrors other reviews: "The printer is however not reliable and service is virtually non-existent. We have been down almost 4 weeks and unable to get the machine working. You seldom get the same tech when calling support so after long hold times and waiting for a call back you have to start the troubleshooting process over, many times repeating steps you have already accomplished"
$2,600 for a replacement print head or 10% of the purchase price 3x per year. Wish someone would buy them and re-engineer and fire all Senior Management.
I've had similar issues as with all other reviews. Nothing but trouble from a device that has barely been used. Does anybody know if there's a class action lawsuit started? I'm based in Canada. I would go as far as this company is a complete scam. Selling a product knowing there are issues.
Prismatic Signs purchased a Direct Color Systems (DCS) UV 1024 printer. When it works the results are very good. The printer is however not reliable and service is virtually non-existent. We have been down almost 4 weeks and unable to get the machine working. You seldom get the same tech when calling support so after long hold times and waiting for a call back you have to start the troubleshooting process over, many times repeating steps you have already accomplished.
There is no local service, tech support is all done over the phone and they send you parts to replace yourself. The installation instructions they provide are incomplete and their techs freely admit this. I worked in Tech Support for an electronics company many years ago and the service work they are asking their customers to do is beyond most peoples capability without some background in printer/electronics repair. I have tried to escalated the problem to DCS management but am unable to get a return phone call.
To get a tech to do warranty service they want $1500, first time I have heard of having to pay for warranty work.
If I were in a position to buy this machine again I would not, and recommend others do not as well.
