Yes, this company needs to be audited and be legally held responsible for all their shady practices and especially harassment of customers. The so called phone reps are the nastiest on earth and I am not sure where they find such people. They should be arrested for harassment!
They keep sending bills for the same amount and notices for collection even after you pay the same bill TWICE! They keep saying there is no account of your payment! They keep sending bills multiple times and yell at you for paying twice just because you paid to make sure you're not sent to collection or bad credit and trying to sort out with them afterwards as you'd do with any legal company.
I ended up paying twice for the same reason and still struggling with them to get back my extra payment or even acknowledge at least one of the payments.
And by any chance you forget to check the box send receipt, heavens help you! It goes to a black hole! You'd think there would be a record of it somewhere even if you forgot the receipt sent to your email, NO. There will be no record of it except on your credit card!
I've seen bad insurance, billing, hospitals and companies before but this tops them all!
I have no idea if I am going to ever get my double payment back nor if they'll stop sending notices!
The worst of all the reps. that's probably too decent a word to call them. They should be arrested for harassment.
The only thing I can do in the future is see if a hospital is under this company, NEVER EVER set foot in it even if they have the doctor you need. I doubt if anyone will first read this and be safe (I hadn't checked out, as like most I generally just check out the doctors), but if you do, look elsewhere!
SHAME ON THESE ...!
EXACTLY THE SAME EXPERIENCE AND MUCH WORSE HARASSMENT AFTER THAT! I could just put ditto on everything here! How are they still in business? Swindlers!
While at French Hospital for 10 days, now owned by INDIGNITY AND THE POPE, I noticed no nurse's aids, no orderly ,no cleaning. I spoke with one of the night nurses who told me she wouldn't bring her dog in because it was so filthy. NO SO CALLED RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION SHOULD CONTROL ANYONE'S HEALTHCARE! No so called nonprofit organization should pay its CEO and executive board these outrageous amounts of money. Indignity healthcare could care less about a person's health. They have become a parasite on the real healthcare community!
After making an appointment to Emergency, as I was suffering from extreme pain to my left head, sinuses and ear, I eventually saw my Doctor; who informed me that I had a very large and hard buildup of wax in my ear! I was left in my booth for a while and was visited by the Accounts lady, and was asked for my payment method, I have no Insurance and so gave my credit card information. The Doctor then returned and removed a large piece of wax from my ear, I was then allowed to leave surgery!
A few days later I noticed a bill for $364 to Dignity. I was still appreciative regarding the end result.
A few days later I received a further Bill from the SWOOP MEDICAL GROUP Inc, for removal of the wax and ER Evaluation of $818. Which they reduced by 25% for immediate payment $613.50. I have now just received another bill from Dignity Health, for eventual charges of $1,266.00 less payment adjustment of my first payment of $364.70. Leaving a further payment of $521.50 which I had no alternative but to pay. I asked if this was the end of these payments, and was told that I should expect a Doctors bill soon. I was in the Hospital for one and a half hours, and was attended by the Doctor for approx., 10 minutes!
I SHALL END HERE.
Posted exactly the same response, ditto on everything said here. How can they get away legally, harassing customers like that?
It's so frustrating and I feel the same. Yes, I hope people try to stay away from this horrendous company and they will be held accountable some day. This should NOT be happening in this day and age. I am too tired to waste more and more time on legal action, but will go out to end this. It was unbelievable to see all these reviews saying the same.
Dignity has more than doubled the charges. I called many times to the billing office to request for an itemized bill. They promise , but didn't follow through twice. I ended up walking to the St Mary's Medical center in San Francisco and spoke to someone in the financial office. She didn't even bother looking at copies of my bill, and plainly said, since the new fiscal year on July 1st, the cost has increased to more than double. That is it! she told me I am welcome to pay by installment.
It is time to support Medicare for all! What industry can charge you with whatever they want without informing you ahead the cost of your service...only the healthcare industry. Too much money is going to their CEOs who is only interested in making profits, and not providing quality care.
a) Dignity has given me a week to settle this and
b) Dignity has never billed Medicare to begin with and
c) Dignity has a department that should be dealing with this, not me and
d) Dignity is outrageously overcharging $10,000 a night for an ER admittance to be hooked up to an IV and that’s it? You’ve got to be kidding me!
Here’s the letter they sent me, dated July 15, that I received the first week of August, for services exactly a year ago, which Medicare gives a year to dispute.

Just to say this ahead of time. I do not capitalize names persons or things that I do not respect. dignity health is the worst place to take a loved one. By the way dignity health owns their own ambulance company, nursing homes and funeral homes under different Business names. Stay Away from dignity healths services. No Accountability. They are buying up Businesses all around and deep down are not practicing anything that The Catholic Church Teaches. My advice here, please check into my story. My Father should still be alive.
Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me However on a further note., If the bill is not adjusted to zero I will re-open a complaint with the Revdex.comSincerely, [redacted]
If you are health-uninsured, as I am, you will be charged $2,200 PER HOUR, going off of the three separate bills I received from Dignity Health following a 3-hour ER visit on July 15th of this year totaling a coronary-inducing $6,600! They of course do not inform you of this, but sit you down in a chair and do all sorts of administrative paperwork, as they did with me, then propping me up in a chair in a hallway. When I informed them I was suffering excruciating stomach pain, an RN said they would get me some pain meds (which didn't arrive for another 45 mins. or so, and which was about a 1 oz. shot of Mylanta mixed with lidocaine, and which only covered my pain for about 4-6 hours). A half hour later, when I asked about the pain meds again and that I was going to pass out, an RN said, "If you pass out, can you make sure to fall backwards?" This is the mindless level of "care" you will get from Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center ER (I went to the one in Mt. Shasta, CA), let alone the absolute brazen extortion attempt by charging such an outrageous rate. The last ER visit bill I had was about 10% of this amount, and I have put their CEO Joseph Jasser on Notice to this effect, and have also informed their billing office that they will never, ever see a dime of it unless they want to honor my lawful counteroffer of $500, to at least remunerate their staff for the 3 hours. The doctor, when he finally arrived, spoke to me for about 5 minutes. Is it fair and equitable to bill me (actually termed a "Statement of Services") for $6,600 for 3 hours, only 5 minutes of which were spent with an actual physician? Oh, also, they informed me that the BP monitor was faulty when it kept beeping an alarm constantly that my BP was 90 over 44. Really? You have the sheer audacity to charge such extortionate rates for services and patient treatment that's this shoddy and woeful? I am not kidding, Dignity Health (save your dignity and health and stay the hell out of this place!), you will only see $500 if you honor my counteroffer, and if not, your CEO and/or CFO will receive a high-dollar amount liability lawsuit for such mis-treatment and attempted fraud on top of it. I already have disputed bills that went to collections and credit report, and I can and will rightfully notice all those agencies participating in this fraud, so you can chase your tail and these "bills" all you want till you are blue in the face! I have uploaded two of the three bills, totaling just under $6K (can't locate the other bill for $600, but it's there, I assure you). Now, you tell me, unless you were bleeding out, would you risk these rip-off artists or death?
Also, I was never given ANY pain med prescription for the horrible pain I was in due to gastroenteritis or mushroom poisoning (could have been either). Subsequently, I suffered for three (3) further weeks the most ghastly GI tract pain imaginable, short of a gunshot wound, which felt like my guts being tied into knots, with broken glass being passed through them. I couldn't eat or relieve myself properly, had several sleepless nights, and all because this company seems to be more interested in stemming the opioid crisis than with proper, individual case-basis, patient care (I received their disclaimer sheet about the opioid epidemic, which is all well and good but caused me incredible suffering because you think denying one patient proper pain meds is going to make a dent in our national epidemic?!). You know what they told me? "Get yourself some antacids"! For real, which I did, and which did about next to nothing. I nearly OD'd on Advil gel caps, because these sadists refused to prescribe any effective pain medication.
I am writing this review to reveal a Dignity Health P.A. provider. The name is Betsey Oppezzo.I believe she is dishonest, judgemental, and may have violated Hippa guidelines.I am still researching this as I want it to be honest and protect others from the humiliation she has caused me.
Mercy General Hospital contacted me late yesterday finally and is waiting for info I am waiting for from TandemI may still need your help if they don't respond.
