My stepson, who was a minor at the time he received the tickets, received two parking tickets from Diamond Parking. On June 25th, 2019, I paid $40 for both tickets online. I am happy to provide proof of this transaction in my bank account. I am unsure of the exact date, but sometime between mid July to mid August, I received a letter only showing one of the payments as paid and threatening to send the balance to collections, and I called Diamond Parking immediately. I know that this occurred before August 16th, 2019 because the phone call took place in my car at my old house that I moved out of by that date. At that time, I provided the representative that I spoke with all of the information on the paper I had received from their company. I also offered to email a screenshot of the $40 charge in my bank account titled to Diamond Parking. The representative told me that I could mark that charge as fraud and then pay the other ticket. I also work in billing, so at that time I advised them that I did not feel comfortable marking a charge as fraud that I knew was in fact not fraud. The representative then told me that I didn't need to send a screenshot of my bank account and that they would make sure that the account had a zero balance. My stepson and my husband and I all had received no communication via mail, phone or email with Diamond Parking again until December 6th, 2019 when I received (at my new address) a letter from *** Financial stating that they'd sent this same bill that I called about previously and was assured would have a zero balance to collections. I spoke with a representative at Diamond Parking, who I believe is who I spoke with before, on December 10th, 2019. After I was told this was handled I discarded the letter. My stepson, who is now 19, has since purchased a new vehicle and discarded the license place he had at the time of the ticket. Diamond Parking is now claiming they can't look up his file using only his name or zero the balance.
Good Morning,
This letter is in reference to complaint ID: ***
I am the Area Facility Manager for Diamond Parking in Coeur D’Alene ID. I spoke to the customer on December 10th regarding this matter. I was not able to immediately assist the customer because there wasn’t enough information provided to track the parking ticket they had received. I told the customer I would have to find another way to track the ticket and resolve the issue, and that I would follow up with them when I did. I contacted *** Financial to obtain the necessary information for the vehicle in question. The notice the customer received was not for the ticket received in August as they thought, but a different one received in October that they were not aware of. I went ahead and voided said ticket as a courtesy, as well as requested *** to void the ticket from their system as well. I contacted the customer and left a voicemail message explaining this on Dec 12th, but I haven’t heard back from them.
Thank you,
Chris L
