Desoto Bargain Storage

I stored my items for less than 2 weeks at this facility and my mattresses clothes bedding curtains box of spices etc got drenched in water when it rained outside completely ruining my mattresses I was advised that my items where not coved or insured and basically I was screwed and responsible for replacing my items. I wasn't aware that I needed to get insurance no one mentioned it to me and I don't rent storages often I was just in between moving from one house to another. I took pictures of everything even water damage inside the storage mold and a puddle of water inside storage and was advised that it wasn't water damage it was glue when my stuff smelled like mildew and had mold and rust stains on my clothes bedding and mattresses. I emailed a list of all my items that where damaged the year I purchased them and price and was told that I could only get back 40% of what I paid which was a complete insult, All I wanted was my mattresses paid for I told them that was my main concern because me and my daughter where having to sleep on our couch they said they would give me a 590.00 check to replace my king size beauty rest mattress and twin size simons mattress which we all know how expensive mattresses and box springs run in the thousands. I didn't argue with them because they made me feel obligated to either take what they offered or get nothing at all. I will never rent from them again or refer anyone to them. Oh and I was told I would receive a check overnighted to me last week and here it is the next week and I haven't received anything I was told the manager didn't have enough money when she went to the post office to overnight it to me so it was sent regular mail. I called today and was advised fed ex delivered the check but they didn't have it still. I'm Still sleeping on my couch with my daughter. They advertise clean secure storage I received the total opposite. I also forgot to mention the lady in the office savoy told me that unit d002 has a history of flooding and I was in d005 I went by my storage a couple days before my movers moved my stuff out to grab something and it was huge puddles of water in front of the whole D unit row I paid over 100.00 to rent this unit for less than 2 weeks and ended up with thousands of dollars in damages I wasn't offer my money back or anything I'm very sad this happened and it's unfortunate I have to spend my daughters Christmas money I saved all year to replace our items that got ruined I moved out oct 26th 2019. Today is November 5th 2019 still no check.
