said that, I believe a realistic budget to construct the FIRST concept that I presented would have been very close to the $150,proposed budget. Here is where the problem began… THE CLIENT directed the scope of work to expand beyond their budgetSeveral revisions and ideas later, it got to the point where I specifically said, “You are at a point where it would be best to tear the house down and rebuild on your lot.” Secondly, the claim that a 3rd party draftsman would have any idea of how much time was required to develop workings drawings acceptable to the client and site plans required by the city planning department for the approval of two variances is ridiculousMy billing was completely fair and justifiedThird, the client had a remodeling contractor that he could have consulted with at any time during this design phase of the project to assist with budget questions Providing estimates for a project is not part of my scope
